NITDA and the 3MTT programme: Steps to apply

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) a government agency in Nigeria responsible for the development and regulation of the information technology sector in the country. NITDA's mission is to develop and regulate Information Technology in Nigeria in order to promote national development.

One of NITDA's key initiatives is the 3MTT programme, which stands for 3 Million Technical Talent. The 3MTT programme is a flagship initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria aimed at developing 3 million technical talents in Nigeria by 2025.

The 3MTT programme is open to all Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 35, regardless of their educational background or prior experience in the tech industry. The programme offers training in a variety of tech skills, including software development, web development, data science, and cybersecurity.

The Nigerian Communication Commission has capped the call rate of CUG service at N50 naira per minute and also barred telecos from data bundling on the plan which is to take effect from November 1.

The CUG (Closed User Group) is a service that enables users create a call community of enrolled members to enjoy lower rates and free on-net calls by paying monthly access fees.

Apart from banning the data bundles on CUG plans telecos are now restricted to only providing voice calls and Short Messaging Service (SMS) only on the telecos plan.
