4 Things I’ve Learned in 4 Years of Marriage

1. Submission is not weakness, it’s trust: Before marriage, I thought submission meant losing your voice. But I’ve come to learn it’s actually about trust and partnership. It means allowing my husband to lead, not because I can’t, but because I trust the wisdom God has placed in him. And in that, I’ve found peace not pressure. It’s not about control, it’s about love, respect, and teamwork.

2. Respect is a love language: I’ve learned that men thrive where they feel respected. It's not just about saying “thank you” or “well done,” it’s about how I speak to him, how I support him, and how I speak about him to others. Respect makes a man feel safe, honored, and valued and in return, he pours back even more love and care. I’ve seen this firsthand in our home. It works like magic 😁

3. Synergy is real: We are better together
When two people decide to work together, not just live together, something powerful happens. Over the years, I’ve seen how our different strengths come together perfectly. His calm meets my energy. My creativity meets his structure. We balance each other, and when we put God at the center, we become a true team. Not perfect, but in sync. That’s synergy.

4. Faith and character carry the marriage: There are moments when love feels easy, and other times when you need something deeper. That’s when faith steps in. Trusting God during uncertain times, believing the best in each other, and holding on to His promises. My husband’s character, integrity, and spiritual depth have been a covering for me. His wisdom is a gift, and I thank God every day that He brought us together.
Marriage has taught me so much not just about love, but about myself, about God, and about the power of two people walking in unity. I’m grateful for every lesson, every challenge, and every moment. I married a wise man, and I thank God I met him.Ephay Page

ENCOURAGEMENT TO EVERY WOMAN

Dear ladies,

Do not despise your days of little beginning.
If it is groundnut or pure water your hands findeth to do, do it with all diligence, with all your heart and might, be super proud of it, put your heart to it and watch it grow.

I started my fashion business as an obioma tailor🤣🤣🤣( I was only amending clothes for people back then in school)

During my first semester 200 level at IMO STATE UNIVERSITY, I decided to sell fabrics at my elder sister’s shop who was and still is a fashion designer. Then I go to ABA to get my fabrics and come back to her shop at Owerri to sell them.

The fabric business wasn’t really bringing in income as it should because my customers then were mostly students. So I thought to myself, what can I add to this fabric business to make more money.

Staying at my elder sister’s shop then, I realized she always rejects amendment jobs 🤔🤔🤔 So I called my mum who is also a fashion designer to send me a sewing machine so that I can be fixing and patching people’s clothes at my sister’s shop.

When I received the sewing machine, a lot of people, students who were my sister’s customers at that time were laughing at me that how can a fine IMSU BABE be amending clothes 😭🤣🤣🤣🤣

I didn’t let them discourage me because I knew my background, I knew where I was coming from, I knew that if I don’t hustle no one will help me and I knew where I was going to.
The little money I made from my amendment business helped me at some point in school. I could buy my textbooks and pay some departmental dues, feed myself without disturbing my parents.

With the sewing machine my mummy sent to me, I started making some nice outfits for my self, each time I wear those outfits people always compliment. Then a friend encouraged me to start making clothes for people instead of just amendments and for myself.

And today I am proud of whom I have become. Yes! I am proud to say 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽
We are a global brand. We are a registered LTD COMPANY.

Today I am not just a fashion designer, I run many other businesses that are doing well.
We have a lot of international clients who buys our designs and pays for our other goods and services. We make outfit for people at every part of Nigeria… I have people who works for me.

I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am today if I decided to give up on myself. If I was ashamed to start obioma tailoring 😂, if I decided to listen to what people think about my hustle.

*Embrace your little beginning.
*Choose who you listen to.
*Dare to do things you are afraid of( I was afraid of telling people I can sew for them so I won’t damage their fabrics until a friend encouraged me to dare).

This is what the spirit of God asked me to do…

By the grace of God I am a successful fashion designer, a hair vendor, an importer and exporter. I run other businesses as well.
