FIFA Orders Egypt To Remove Seven Stars From Their World Cup Jersey
Egypt will play their FIFA World Cup matches in kits not bearing the stars commemorating their seven Africa Cup of Nations victories, following a reminder from FIFA, according to the Egyptian Football Association.
The Pharaohs typically boast seven stars above their national-team crest on their football kits to recognise each of their continental triumphs, but were already reminded earlier this year that their Puma designs must be adapted to meet FIFA guidelines.
Egypt have also changed the colour of the numbers on their kit from gold to white to be clearer.
EFA Media Officer Mohamed Morad Thabet told ESPN: "It was a routine procedure: four months ago, FIFA notified the Football Association regarding the issue of not displaying the Africa Cup of Nations stars on the national team's jersey during World Cup matches.
"[This was a] notification, it was merely a routine step. The national team had already anticipated this and made the necessary preparations well in advance."
Egypt's tournament began with a match against Belgium in Seattle on Monday before they face New Zealand in Vancouver six days later. Their Group G campaign concludes against Iran in Seattle on June 26.

Tension As Senator Ningi Arrives With Spear At Plenary
A moment of tension unfolded in the Senate chamber on Wednesday after Senator Abdul Ningi arrived with a traditional spear during plenary, prompting concern among lawmakers and officials.
The presence of the object immediately drew attention, with some members questioning why it was brought into the chamber and whether it posed any security risk within the legislative environment.
As officials moved to have it removed through the Sergeant-at-Arms, the senator resisted the move, insisting that he would personally take responsibility for it instead.
“You people should leave it for me, you don’t know the importance of it and what it means,” the senator said.
He further insisted on handling it himself, adding: “I will take it away, but I won’t allow the Sergeant-at-Arms to take it. You don’t know the importance of this and what it means. So, go back, I will take it away.”
Ik Ogbonna's Tribute to his best friend is out of this world. Dude is struggling with his emotions.
The most difficult tribute to read. His Father just couldn't, so he sent another.
Alex Ekubo's father's tribute to his beloved son is one heartbreak we do not wish anyone to go through. RIP Ikukuoma

"Anwili, my sister, it was difficult for us. We were very particular about who she would end up with because she's a special breed. But when Ikenna (Alexx Ekubo) came into her life, we knew no one else deserved her but him.
We knew she was safe with him because he was an intentional lover. If you think you've ever known or experienced love, you needed to witness Ikenna and Anwili. He was very intentional.
My sister was safe with him because we saw how he loved his family. We're very intentional in our own family too, so it wasn't difficult for us to let our jewel go to Ikenna because we saw how much he valued family. And family, to him, wasn't just about blood.
If Ikenna loved you, you became family. The purest kind of family.
Ikenna came and fulfilled his mission. Yes, it might seem short, but who are we to say it was short?
One thing we're certain of, one thing I know, is that Ikenna returned empty. He emptied himself completely. He didn't return to his Maker holding back anything. He poured out every virtue he came into this life with.
He was a passionate lover of Jesus. A radical lover of God. That's our consolation. That he came, he saw, he conquered, and he returned fulfilled." — Alexx Ekubo sister-in-law's Tribute during his service of songs in Lagos.
