In business, speed is valuable, but direction is priceless.
It’s better to move slowly in the right direction than to rush full speed toward to a dead end.
Pause, review your strategy, then execute with clarity.

The Most Important Job Interview of My Life… I Didn’t Get the Job

Many years ago, I went for what I thought was my dream job.
I had prepared for weeks, practiced my answers, even bought a new suit.

The interview went well… until the final question:

“Tell us about a time you failed.”

I froze.
Not because I had never failed, but because I had never learned to talk about failure without feeling ashamed.

I mumbled something safe, but I knew I had lost them.

I didn’t get the job.

But walking out that day, I learned something priceless:
The most successful people aren’t the ones who avoid failure… they’re the ones who can own it, learn from it, and keep moving.

Since then, I’ve changed how I see setbacks. Now, every “no” teaches me something that makes the next “yes” even stronger.

Failure stopped being the end of the story, it became part of my training ground for growth.
Every challenge since then has been a chance to grow sharper, wiser, and more resilient.

What’s one failure that shaped who you are today?

Some years ago, I met a man who laughed at anyone working a 9–5.

He would say, “I can never build another man’s dream.”
To him, a salary was “modern slavery.”

He quit his job to start a retail shop. For the first three months, sales were good. Friends called him “CEO” and celebrated his “freedom.”

By the sixth month, rent was due, suppliers wanted their money, and sales had dropped. He was under pressure.

A year later, he quietly returned to paid employment this time grateful for the stability and structure it provided.

Here’s the truth: working for someone is not a failure. In fact, it can be the training ground for the skills, discipline, and networks you’ll need if you decide to go solo.

And I have noticed that most people who constantly preach, “Be your own boss” or “Don’t build someone else’s dream”, often have a full-time job alongside the business they talk about publicly.

Being a full-time entrepreneur requires an extremely high level of sacrifice, confidence, and capability.
Entrepreneurship is not superior to employment they’re just different paths, each with its own challenges.

Respect both.

Enjoy your weekend.

🔥 THE ILLUSION OF "THE RIGHT TIME”

Most people say, "I'll start when I have more money," or "I'll take action when things are perfect.

But here’s the truth: The right time never comes. The difference between winners and those who stay stuck is that winners start before they feel ready.

👉 They launch before they have all the answers.
👉 They invest before they’re 100% sure.
👉 They take risks when others hesitate.

Your future self is watching. What will you do today that your future self will thank you for?

Do Something Different

If your strategy for ₦1M is the same as for ₦10M, ₦100M, or ₦1B, you’ll likely remain at the same level. Growth requires evolution.

This quarter, challenge yourself to:
✔ Think bigger – Your ideas shape your reality. Expand your vision.
✔ Act differently – What worked before may not work now. Adapt.
✔ Invest wisely – Time, energy, and money should all be placed where they multiply.
✔ Stay disciplined – Small, consistent actions create massive results over time.

Q2 is another opportunity to move smarter, work harder, and execute better.

What’s one thing you’ll do differently this quarter? Drop it in the comments. Let’s grow together!

Take a close look at the picture below. What does it show you?

You are like the overwhelmed horse in the picture and the loads that are holding it above balance.

It's a perfect unbiased illustration of what happens or will happen to everyone or anyone who attempts to bear the full weight of every burden around them with complete disregard for their own balance and abilities.

The overload will throw you above board and strap you to a choking thread or collapse you beneath the very breath you desire to give to those whom in your ego and overzealousness you presume to outweigh in strength and wherewithal.

Once the overload has pinned you to the usual fate of those who suffer from the Messiah Complex, neither you nor those you shoulder their endless burden will move an inch any further.

And that’s when you realize that knowing what to carry and what to leave behind is not wickedness but wisdom that will both benefit you and those who critique your blunt refusal to face the same fate as the unfortunate horse.

If you must keep progressing, if you must keep helping, you must always help yourself first. It's when you are saved that you can save others.

If you attempt to save others when you have not saved yourself, both you and everyone you desire to save will drown.

Think about this when next the Messiah Complex compels you to carry all your family problems and all the other problems you think are yours to carry.

You must learn how to be selfish before you can become selfless and in people’s misunderstanding of your actions, you should have the understanding that it's detrimental for everyone if you become poor in your attempt to save the poor.

This post is not for everyone, it's for those who are mentally mature to see the danger in being good all the time.
