Lens University Ilemona has hosted a National Universities Commission (NUC) resource inspection team for the assessment of 12 additional academic programmes, including Law, Pharmacy, Optometry, Physiotherapy, Engineering, Software Engineering, Economics, Finance, and Marketing.

The NUC team, led by Abubakar M. Girei, commended the University’s management and founders for providing a conducive academic environment and adequate infrastructural facilities, noting the institution’s readiness to commence the proposed programmes.

The University Proprietors appreciated the NUC team for the thorough inspection and pledged to address all recommendations for improvement promptly.

Meet Comrade Abdullahi Ismail Omotosho, the newly elected SUG President of Lens Polytechnic Offa.

Students of Lens Polytechnic Offa have successfully elected a new set of Students’ Union Government (SUG) executives for the 2026/2027 academic session. The election, which took place on Friday, 17 April 2026, at the Polytechnic’s permanent site, saw Comrade Abdullahi Ismail Omotosho—popularly known as “Buhari” from the Computer Science Department—emerge as the president-elect.

While announcing the results, the institution’s proprietor, Dr. Yisa Azeez (FCA), urged the newly elected leaders to stay committed to their responsibilities, uphold the trust placed in them by the students, and protect the institution’s reputation.

In his earlier remarks, the Chairman of Lens Institutions, Mallam Isiaka Azeez, congratulated the executives and encouraged them to remain dedicated, focused, and purpose-driven. He also challenged them to leave a lasting legacy through exemplary leadership and to serve as worthy ambassadors of the institution.

First admitted females to the University of London, Ibadan, which later became the University of Ibadan, 1939.

Lens Polytechnic Student From Offa Local Government Emerges First Nigerian To Be Globally Recognised By Apple As A Security Researcher
For the second time, the world's largest technology company( Apple) has shortlisted a Computer Science student of Lens Polytechnic Offa, an Offa Born Cyber Security Expert, Yunus Oyetunde ( Coy Emerald) as the only Nigerian on the list of Apple security researchers for the year 2024.
As a young and talented Nigerian, Coy Emerald has carved a niche for himself in the cyber security industry with his deep-rooted specialization in Ethical Hacking.
He is a young and accomplished cybersecurity expert, the visionary behind the O-range Ethical Hacking Class, serving as both its CEO and instructor.
With a passion for educating others, he has garnered recognition for imparting cybersecurity knowledge and building a profitable venture.
Yunus has risen to prominence on social media, solidifying his position as a leading ethical hacker in Nigeria. Armed with extensive experience, he is dedicated to not only maximizing revenue through adept social media marketing but also sharing these strategies with others. Yunus aspires to be a driving force for cyber security advancement in Africa.
Beyond his role as an educator, Yunus has made significant contributions as a bug bounty hunter and technical writer. His talents have been acknowledged by major entities like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Branch, and India's renowned car marketplace, DROOM. In the past two years, he was commended by the Nigeria Police Force for enhancing the security of a critical application.
In reaction to this achievement, the Proprietor, Dr. Azeez Yisa congratulated Yunus for his rare feat. The Proprietor noted that Lens Polytechnic is an institution where talents are discovered and projected to the world.
The Registrar, Mr. Hammed Sarafa Olakekan lauded Yunus for his giant strides and for putting the name of the institution in the global realm. The Registrar said the whole Polytechnic community is proud of him and wished him more success in his endeavor.

To further expose our students to the field experience, on Friday 9th of February 2024, some of our students had one on one interview session with Offa Unity Bank Branch Manager.

It was an interesting interaction and enthralling moment as students were exposed to different issues and realities in business and economy during the interview.

Lens Poly Offa Students Showcase Exceptional Abilities As Masscom Dept. Hosts Talent Hunt

Department of Mass Communication, Lens Polytechnic Offa has organized a talent hunt for the ND ll students of the department to display their inborn and exceptional abilities to the world.

The enthralling event held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Institution's permanent site featured dance, drama, music, chants, fashion parades, comedy, food competition and proverb duet.

In his opening address, the Proprietor, Dr. Azeez Yisa applauded the students for their wonderful performances. He noted that the institution equips students academically and scouts talents for self-sustainability and reliance.

Speaking further, the Proprietor emphasized that a talent show is part of the social adventure that allows students to discover themselves and what they can offer the society. He therefore admonished students at all levels to be innovative, productive and identify their talents as important factor that leads to a successful future.

According to him," You are in the best Polytechnic to display your talent. Identify what you can do, discover your talent, and point out what you can contribute to the society. With your inborn talent, you don't have to wait for a white-collar job, develop your skills with dedication, and you will get to the promised land.”

Earlier, the Head of the Department of Mass Communication, Mrs. Kehinde Adeniran described the programme as an avenue for all students to showcase their God-given talent and for social engagement in the Polytechnic community. Mrs. Adeniran added that the department deploys talent hunt shows to expose the exceptional abilities of the students and prepare them for the future.

"Mass Communication is one course with many professions. The creative industry is one of the most lucrative professions in mass communication, which we are exploring extensively at Lens Polytechnic. Today's talent show is another intriguing event that certifies our dedication and commitment to a prosperous future for our students,” she said.
