The aftermath of displacement is rarely talked about. Today, we share Faith Tyokosu Dooshima’s story, one that reveals how displacement doesn’t just take homes, but strains families, hope, and the bond between a mother and her children. For Faith, being displaced deeply affected her relationship with her children and her sense of stability. But even in the midst of loss, hope found its way back. Through the POWER Project, funded by the French Embassy and implemented by the Centre for Redefining Alternative Civic Engagement for Africa (RACE Africa) and the Gender and Environmental Risk Reduction Initiative (GERI), Faith gained a valuable skill and a renewed sense of purpose. Today, she is ready to move from survival to sustainability.
