Observer of Tenders for contract awards.

JRI as an Accredited Public Procurement CSO in Nigeria has been observing Tender Board Meetings/Bid Openings for the award of TETFUND sponsored projects at COE Katsina Ala, Benue State in recent times.

As a standard practice the Tenders Board of the College calls for Contract Bids from suitable companies. The call for submission of bids is usually advertised in Newspapers and Tenders Journals.

Upon submission of Technical and Financial Bids, the board fixes a date for bid opening where the representatives of the companies, CSO/NGO observers and members of the Tenders Board met to open the bids and give pre qualification scores before deserving companies are awarded contracts as per the LOT they bid for.

The most qualified company whose Technical and Financial Bid meets the selection criteria is then offered the contract.

Review Meeting with CBPT (Community Volunteers) on Conflict-Related SGBV Prevention Project.

Our Community Volunteers are working with communities to strengthen conflict and SGBV Prevention in households and their communities. With focus in GUMA, Agatu and Logo LGAs of Benue State through household discussion sessions, advocacy meetings and community sensitisations.

The Conflict-Related SGBV Prevention project is supported by the Ford Foundation.

We reviewed the Activity Reports and Updates (achievements, challenges lessons, etc).

The Community-Based Protection Team (CBPT)/Community Activities has gained traction in achieving the project outcomes in the target communities.

This Conflict and SGBV Prevention project is designed to contribute to the prevention of conflict and SGBV in Agatu, Logo and Guma LGAs of BENUE STATE.

When community members are enlightened on human rights principles, they are capable of using the community structures, existing laws and authorities to prevent conflict and GBV.

Strengthening collaboration with community and stakeholders as communities take the lead in prevention of conflict and GBV. We take human rights awareness to communities, community education and sensitisation to make our communities safe.

We welcome our partners Cirddoc Nigeria to the Refresher Training and Review Meeting with Benue State CBPT (Community Volunteers). Our CBPT are the first responders on our "Strengthening Capacity and Oversight on the Use of Human Rights Principles in the Prevention of Conflict-Related SGBV".
