The deal, signed at CISCO's MEA Partners Conference in Dubai, aims to accelerate digital transformation and empower the state's youth through enhanced skills development, significantly boosting Benue's digital human capital.

Benue is one of six (6) states selected to host the pilot phase of the Nigeria’s maiden National Food City Complex in Ogyoma community in the Akpa district of Otukpo Local Government Area, Benue State.

The project will create over 20,000 jobs, train 1,000 youths, transform farming through on-site mechanized processing that guarantees farmers a ready market and boost food production, processing and export capacity across the country.

Governor Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has flagged off the sale of 9,000 metric tonnes of fertilizer for the 2025 farming season in Benue State. Valued at ₦16.8bn (600 truckloads), the state will subsidize 50%, making each bag available to farmers at ₦22,500. The launch held at the Benue Fertilizer & Chemicals Company, Makurdi, marks a major boost for food production and farmers’ support this season.
