World Cleanup Day 2025 was nothing short of inspiring at UNIMAID! 🌍✨

Through our Green Sweep Initiative, and in collaboration with CAYEI, Breath with Green Youth Development Initiative, and The Climate Vanguards Initiative, we came together with passionate volunteers to give our campus a fresh breath.

Together, we collected around 200 kg of waste, from plastics to textiles, filling up 10 heavy refuse bags. Beyond just cleaning, this action was a powerful reminder of the pressing challenge of textile and fashion waste, and the role we all have to play in addressing it.

A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who rolled up their sleeves and made this possible. Your energy and commitment are shaping a more sustainable and responsible campus community.🌱

Let’s keep the momentum alive, because small acts lead to big change!

In commemoration of World Cleanup Day 2025, the Center for Community Awareness and Youth Empowerment Initiative in partnership with the Climate Student Movement of Nigeria (CSMN)UNIMAID Chapter, Breath with Green Youth Development Initiative, and The Climate Vanguard Initiative, is proud to announce a campus-wide cleanup campaign.

Join us in a massive effort to tackle textile and fashion waste and build a culture of environmental stewardship.

Yesterday, 23rd August 2025, we had the honor of joining the Borno State Agency for the Great Green Wall and the Ministry of Environment for the official launching of the 2025 Tree Planting Campaign at Njimtilo New Trailer Park.

The event was a resounding success, bringing together community members, environmental advocates, and government officials, with the Governor of Borno State ably represented by the Deputy Governor.

This campaign is about restoring our environment, combating desertification, and creating a greener, healthier future for our dear Borno state.

We are proud to be part of this collective effort and will continue to support initiatives that place people and planet at the center of development.
