Let There Be Teachers- The Audacity Clarion Call

Today let my voice echo,
Yes echo through the nation.
Let there be teachers,
Not whispers in corners,
But thunder in the square.
Not shadows behind chalkboards,
But flames in the open air!

We rise—not just to teach,
But to declare,
That the hands shaping nations
Now choose to gather there.
At Tafawa Balewa, we claim our ground,
Sixty thousand strong, destiny-bound.

This is not a record attempt,
This is a revival.
Not a statistic,
But a symphony of survival.
We are value. We are voice.
We are vision and choice.

From creeks to classrooms,
From chalk to code,
We’ve carried the dream,
Now we gather bold.
The blackboard was our banner,
The textbook our shield,
But now we march,
And refuse to yield.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, I wrote a piece that stirred deep reflection: 🔍 What if “out-of-school” doesn’t always mean outside the school gates? What if we’ve been undercounting the real number of children who are educationally excluded?

💭 Think about it: classrooms full of students, yet many can’t access the curriculum, engage with learning, or demonstrate meaningful progress. They are present—but they are not learning. That is invisible exclusion. And that is a pedagogical failure.

It’s not enough to enroll students.

It’s not even enough to have a curriculum.

What truly matters is how students experience that curriculum—through the quality of teaching they receive.

And that’s where pedagogy becomes everything.
