Good afternoon, family.

In response to need of the hour as impressed on our hearts by the Lord, it is my privilege to introduce Biblesquare, an onsite and virtual Bible school experience focused on reintroducing the fundamentals and foundations of the Christian faith while highlighting its relevance in the 21st century. In addition to being a "Bible School Experience", Biblesquare will serve as a podcast to address complex questions about life, the Christian faith, and how both intersect with our culture.

The name Biblesquare reflects our unwavering belief in the Word of God as the final authority on all matters of life and as the lens through which we must see and understand everything.

From exploring the foundations of the Christian faith to learning about the fundamentals and necessity of Christian apologetics, our goal is to create a platform for honest and enriching conversations—much like a village square —where ideas can be shared and challenged, but always measured against the standard of God's word.

We will kick off the series with a session on "How to Study the Bible" and a question: "Can Man Live Forever?"

Of Baba Sala Beverages and So-Called Prophets

We live in very exciting times. Trends come and go in seasons and cycles. One of the trends that is currently making the rounds is the business of outsourcing.

Ordinarily, the idea of personal outsourcing entails delegating tasks that don't require your personal touch so that you can free up time for more important things. This is not a big deal neither is it a bad idea. The outsourcing business is in high demand and is turning huge profits globally.

You can outsource the cleaning of your apartment, your laundry and dry cleaning of your clothes, you can even outsource your shopping and cooking, if you need to. But we are beginning to see very absurd shades and varieties of the business of outsourcing in our time.

One such absurd variation is surrogacy. While there may be some women who have medically valid reasons to opt for surrogacy, there are many others who are looking for the easy way out - to them, surrogacy is nothing more than a rent-a-womb business. Time fails me to even mention those who offer their wombs for this business, but that is not my focus in this piece. Not today. And no, I have not stated my personal position on surrogacy. Again, not today.

Perhaps, the most absurd of them all are Christians who outsource their spiritual responsibilities. They tend to equate answers to prayers as a sign of God's pleasurable disposition towards them, so they hire prayer contractors to bombard heaven's door on their behalf.

"Just let the answer come even if I didn't get to ask for it myself".

Across the land, there are many lily-livered men who have outsourced their prayer life to their wives. They claim to be the head of the home everywhere else but where it truly matters. So also, there are feeble minded women who have further outsourced their prayer altar to their prophets. Sitting obese at the very top of this pyramid scheme, with fat-clogged arteries, are the so-called prophets, "the prayerers".

As a boy, this was a frequent sight. A prophet(ess) would announce a pilgrimage to a holy site usually local mountains and sometimes to the holy land. Everyone who wants their case mentioned on this holy mountain would submit their long list of prayer requests to the prophets along with giant sized cans of beverages and envelopes thick with cash.

It seems that this trend has taken a new turn these days. It is debatable, but one of the easiest ways to become popular as a prophet these days is to start a prayer meeting where people can come and shout or type "Amen" and "Fire", in exchange for some promise of miracles. While at it or right at the end, an account information rolls on the screen along with a phone number for testimonies.

Hear this:

The main benefit of your prayer to you is not the answer to those prayers. IT IS WHO YOU BECOME AS YOU PRAY. Staying in God's presence has immense benefits, one of which is, transformation.

Although you may get the results of outsourcing your prayer life, you will miss out on the primary benefit of the prayer engagement if you don't do it yourself.

Just as no one can breathe for you, eat for you, or stool for you, your relationship with God cannot be outsourced.

Rise up to this eternal ordination and become all that God intended for you to be. Engage God and watch your life get transformed at each encounter.

1. You as an individual are not the church. You are a member of the church. Only you no fit be church, unless only you fit be country.

2. Saying or typing "Amen", "I receive" and "Fire" online to someone else's prayers is not morning devotion. No one grows spiritually that way.

3. "El-Abba's" Favourite Daughter, you are not the bride of Christ, the Church is. Jesus will not marry you. The demons from Aristotle's granduncle's sister-in-law's village are the ones whispering in your ears that you are to remain unmarried "for the Lord".

4. You are not the Holy Spirit. You are a human being possessing spirit, soul and body.

5. You are not Christ. You are Christ's if you have believed and received Him. You are a Christian if you live your life following in Christ's steps.

6. Your actions are not inconsequential in your walk with the Lord. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

7. Fear God. God is not your gee, neither is He the old man upstairs.

8. H.S. is not the Holy Spirit's nickname. He has other names such as Teacher, Comforter, Spirit of Truth etc. No dey reinvent God as Steeze Shepherd.

9. The teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit is circumscribed within that which Christ taught. He will not go outside of that scope. God can give you wisdom to figure out complex things, but the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit is highly specificized.

Try dey go church. Not where they sell you David's stone, Moses' staff, Goliath's sword or Peter's fishing net.

Try dey go church. Not where they tell you that God is already pleased with you and that nothing you do can change that fact. Not where they keep you in fear and suspicion, ostracizing you from your family.

I take God beg you. Try dey go church.

And may the Lord lead you to green pastures.

The believer is many things but he is not the presence of God. He can not in fact, be the presence of God. That is, unless language has ceased to have fundamental rules of expression, and we are allowed to say whatever we want, even when what we say veils and misconstrues our intention, assuming those intentions are noble.

The Bible is clear about where, what and who we are.

We are in the presence of God. We have been guaranteed perpetual access to that Presence by the blood of Jesus.

"I am with you always", Jesus said. This means His presence abides perpetually with those who have believed on Him. By the curious tools of God's Spirit, we are able to make the invisible God perceivable to others and demonstrate His presence which is with us.

God is with us.

God is in us.

We are in Him.

We are in His presence.

We are NOT His presence.

To say that we are His presence is to arrogate to ourselves something essentially divine, something beyond what we have been given. To say that is to make ourselves something worthy of worship - as though God were constrained without us and that without us He cannot make Himself known.

Songs must pass the test of doctrine and inspiration before we sing them in the congregation of God's saints.

This is 2024. Gospel singers cannot keep hopping from program to concert all year long, without being grounded in the scripture, without having a local assembly they are submitted to. Stay in your local assembly and learn sound doctrine so you won't confuse yourself with sounds, and so-called psalms from the angels.

Encounters happen when God allows mortal mankind to bump into His ever-present reality, His ever-near presence. In order to do this, the God of glory thunders - shattering the limitations of time and cosmos, interjecting and interrupting the frequency that our minds are familiar with - so that He might present us with His thoughts and ways.

No one bumps into God by chance. Encounters are God's exclusive preserve, and He dispenses them of His will. But is it not His will that all men know Him from the least to the greatest? Encounters are divinely orchestrated but can be experienced on demand by one who has been instructed in the ways of the God of glory.

In scriptures, we find God's word calling us to the place of devotion and consecration - the place where encounters are not happenstance, the place where mankind is perpetually confronted with the blazing holiness of the triune God. Such holiness that even holy angels call HOLY.

The journey to the place of encounters begins by faith - faith that works. Join us this Saturday, 16 December 2023, as we explore the often overlooked fundamentals of faith and the works of faith, as we trust the Lord to equip us for the things that He has prepared for us.

I am a believer.

I believe in Jesus - that He is the Son of God, the saviour of the world.

I believe in God the Father.

I believe that the Holy Spirit is one with the Father and Son.

I believe in God's eternal judgment which is to come.

I believe that the Bible is God's word to us for all generations.

I believe that God is alive, that He speaks and that He leads.

I believe that miracles happen - by the sovereign will of the God in whom I believe.

I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others as long as both of them are alive.

I believe that marriage is honourable and that the marital bed should not be defiled.

I believe that a life of moral rectitude is non-negotiable for those who believe in Jesus.

Jesus came, asking us to believe in Him. If you're like me, you'll ask - "Sir, what do you want me to believe? You? How do I believe in a person?"

But Jesus came, doing things and saying things. If it is true that we believe Him, we will value His words and life, and pattern our own lives the way He wants us to.

Belief is more than mental assent. It is deep conviction that is based on a strong persuasion in the object of that Belief. If it is true that we believe God, there is a way that we will posture our lives.

Last month, I was in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, for the AAUA Glory Campaign. It was a long weekend of refreshing teachings, prayers and impartation. God surely helped us.

Prayer is the soul winner's edge
It's his reliable companion

Let the man who prays be glad
For He gives heaven permission
To invade the earth!

No circumstance of life is exempt from the broad scope and light beams of the Scriptures, that's where we find our comfort and confidence; our assignment, assistance, assurance; we find therein the WILL of the One True God!

When you are done with the jumping and ranting about the truth or otherwise of "eternal salvation" (whoso readeth let him understand), maybe we can now sit to discuss where we go from there!

Salvation is but birth!
There is a life to live!
A territory to conquer!
A path to walk!
A Commission to fulfill!

In Apostle Paul's words inspired by the Holy Spirit:
Hebrews 6:1-2 (KJV)
"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, LET US GO ON UNTO PERFECTION; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."

Debating will not save a dying world, it will only further divide us. We agree on more things than we disagree about. Why not unite on those things we agree on which actually forms the bulk?

There are islands yonder, waiting for the invasion of the sons of the King!
How much longer shall they wait? While the sons argue over theology....

Our Father Who Art In Heaven.

Don't interrupt me. I'm praying.

BUT -- YOU CALLED ME!!

heaven.

THERE -- YOU DID IT AGAIN.

Did what?

CALLED ME. YOU SAID, "OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN." WELL, HERE I AM. WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND?

But, I didn't mean anything by it. I was, you know, just saying my prayers for the day. I always say the Lord's Prayer. It makes me feel good, kind of like fulfilling a duty.

BY "HALLOWED BE THY NAME?"

It means, it means... good grief, I don't know what it means. How in the world should I know? It's just a part of the prayer. By the way, what does it mean?

IT MEANS HONORED, HOLY, WONDERFUL.

Hey, that makes sense. I never thought about what 'hallowed' meant before. Thanks. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.

No, but I'd like to know. I want to please you now. I've really made a mess of things. I want to truly follow you. I can see now how great that would be. So, tell me... how do I make you happy?
