Yesterday was our test-cooking and final operational dress rehearsal before the official opening of Swallow Republic and it was a success

We finally cooked in our new kitchen and everything worked

The kitchen worked,
The appliances worked
We cooked our signature dishes.
We tested our production flow.
We created contents that would last us for weeks upon weeks.

After months of planning, building, buying equipment, fixing things, changing things and putting this dream together, we are finally ready to open our doors to you and serve you correct Nigeria soups and swallows .

On Today’s Episode of Building Swallow Republic in public

Yesterday, I visited our new space and took a picture of one of the rooms (first picture).

We’re planning to convert this room into a dedicated production room, separate from the kitchen that came with the apartment.

So naturally, I sent the picture to my interior designer for the project… ChatGPT.😁😁

After a few prompts, it generated the second picture.

And honestly? This is pretty close to what we want this particular space to look like when we are done setting up.

For the production room, the goal isn’t luxury, the goal is functionality.

This room will serve as our primary production space where most of the prepping and cooking will happen, so it needs to meet the standards of a commercial kitchen

There will be a few additional equipment installations, storage solutions, workstations and finishing touches, but yes, this gives you a very good idea of what the space will look like when completed.

Watching Swallow Republic come together one room at a time is very exciting for me, and I can’t wait to share more of the journey with you as we build.
