STORY TIME
Maya and Elara were the kind of best friends who shared everything—or so Maya thought. They had been inseparable since kindergarten, a duo defined by Maya’s quiet generosity and Elara’s "borrowing" habit.
It started small. A lip gloss here, a favorite sweater there. Elara would pout, mention she "forgot hers," and Maya, ever the loyalist, would hand it over with a smile. But as they grew older, Elara’s appetite for Maya’s life didn't just grow; it became an obsession.
The Subtle Shift
When Maya got a part-time job at a local boutique, Elara didn't congratulate her. Instead, she asked for Maya's employee discount. When Maya saved up for a vintage camera to pursue her dream of photography, Elara began "borrowing" it every weekend, returning it with a full memory card of her own selfies and a drained battery.
"We’re basically the same person, May," Elara would say, flashing a polished smile. "What’s mine is yours, and what’s yours is mine."
The problem was, Elara never seemed to have anything of her own to share.
The Breaking Point
The breaking point came during their senior year. Maya had spent months working on a portfolio for a prestigious scholarship at a top design school. It was her ticket out of their small town—a collection of sketches, fabric swatches, and a finalized digital lookbook.
One rainy Tuesday, Elara came over, looking distraught. "I’m failing Art History," she sobbed. "If I don't submit a creative project by tomorrow, I’ll lose my credits."
Maya, moved by her friend's tears, showed her the digital files. "I can help you brainstorm something tonight," Maya offered. "We can use some of my old practice sketches."
Elara’s eyes didn't look at the practice sketches. They were fixed on the scholarship folder.
The next morning, Maya logged on to submit her application, only to find a "Duplicate Content" error. Heart hammering, she searched the school’s public student portal. There it was: Elara had submitted Maya’s entire portfolio under her own name at midnight.
The Confrontation
Maya didn't scream. She didn't cry. She went to Elara’s house and found her "bestie" lounging on the porch, scrolling through her phone.
"Why?" Maya asked, her voice trembling.
Elara didn't even look up. "You’re so talented, Maya. You could do another one in a week. I needed this more. Besides, friends help each other, right?"
"Friends don't steal futures, Elara," Maya said, a cold clarity washing over her. "And greedy people always forget one thing: you can steal the work, but you can’t steal the talent that made it."
The Aftermath
Maya didn't just report the plagiarism; she provided the metadata from her original files, proving the time-stamped creation of every design. Elara was disqualified and faced
academic suspension.
Without Maya there to "lend" her notes, her clothes, or her ideas, Elara’s world began to shrink. She realized too late that she hadn't just been taking things—she had been burning the only bridge that actually supported her.
Maya eventually went to that design school. She still shares her life with people, but now she knows the difference between a friend who wants to grow with you and a parasite who just wants to grow on you.

Sometimes the best relationship advice comes from the most unexpected places! 😂
Proverbs 5:19, which says, "Let her breast satisfy thee at all times...".
But it’s the caption that really steals the show: "Abeg who go breastfeed me 😔".
Talk about taking "daily bread" to a whole different level! 🥛✨
Let’s Settle This:
* Is this the ultimate relationship goal? 😍
* Or is someone just spending too much time on "Christian Twitter"? 🕊️🤔
Tag your partner below and tell them it’s "scriptural"! 👇😂

Arguments are inevitable, but how you fight determines if your relationship grows or breaks. 💔✨
I came across these "Rules for Couples," and honestly, they hit deep. It’s a great reminder that even when the vibes are off, the respect should stay on.
📜 The Rules:
* No Insults: Anger isn’t a license to be mean.
* Communicate: Don’t make them guess; explain why you’re hurt.
* Keep it Private: Protect your "us" from outside noise.
* Stay Grateful: Don’t let one bad moment erase years of good ones.
* Practice Grace: Remember that you’ve been forgiven too.
Which of these do you think is the hardest to follow in the heat of the moment? 👇
Personally, I think #2 is a game-changer. We aren't mind readers! Let’s chat in the comments. 🗣️👇
