*"APWEN and NASENI Forge Partnership: Exploring Opportunities for STEM Advancement & Women Empowerment"*

Empowering women engineers and advancing STEM in Nigeria! Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) President - Engr. Dr. Adebisi R. Osim, FNSE visits National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure - NASENI's EVC/CEO Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu to explore collaboration opportunities.
APWEN President - Engr. Dr. Adebisi R. Osim, FNSE discussed potential areas of partnership, including capacity building, research and development projects and women empowerment in STEM.

The visit aimed to strengthen the collaboration between APWEN and NASENI, promoting mutual interests in advancing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in Nigeria.

In his response EVC/CEO NASENI - Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu expressed NASENI's commitment to supporting APWEN's initiatives, fostering innovation, and empowering women in STEM.

APWEN FunSTEM Train the Trainers Session took place on 21st September, 2024 via Zoom at 08:00PM WAT and lasted for 1 hour 30 minutes.

The session was led by Engr. Lois Adeyemo, MNSE and had more than 40 engineering and teaching professionals in attendance. The theme of the session was "Expanding Horizons in STEM Education and Professional Development Across Nigeria" with the central focus on Empowering the Next Generation of STEM Leaders. The president of APWEN, Engr.. Dr. Adebisi R. OSIM, FNSE, FNICE was recognised for her support towards the Professional Development Session.

The Highlight of the session included introduction to STEM, the demand of STEM Education in Nigeria, how to become a STEM Role Model and a step by step guide on how to facilitate STEM Workshops for Students. The STEM Activities for the students were thoroughly described with videos to show how they work and the STEM concepts they are related to. The session ended with questions and feedback from the participants as well as responses from Engr. Bosede Oyekunle and Engr. Dr. Tolulope Erinosho . The presentation notes and recorded session was shared with the group
