Nigeria's Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria has concluded arrangements to offer a Masters Degree course in telecommunications engineering in collaboration with Etisalat Nigeria. ABU's Head of Public Affairs, Sama'ila Shehu, said that the programme was the first of its kind in the Nigerian university system. ABU Vice-Chancellor Abdullahi Mustapha said that the programme would address problems associated with local workforce requirements and pave the way for rapid development in the nation's communication industry. The Director of Brands and Communications at Etisalat Nigeria, Enitan Denloye, said that the partnership would boost the scope of the industry.

Etisalat Nigeria is sponsoring the top three students from the first year of the Etisalat Telecommunications Engineering Program (ETEP) at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for intensive training at the Etisalat Academy in Dubai.
