Why You Must be a READER!

There is no any wise man or woman who is not a voracious reader of books.

I once saw a very beautiful young lady. I was so attracted that I scheduled a date with her. When we got talking, the strong attraction I felt began to dwindle.

This is because her words and ideas were so shallow and superficial that I thought her beauty is in sharp contrast to her level of knowledge and wisdom.

The babe has nothing constructively intelligent to offer; her only selling point is her hot body, curves and hot legs. Don't just be beautiful in body, be beautiful in your brain also.

I tried to help her fine-tune her knowledge by offering to buy some books for her and send her few useful articles but her response was shocking..

"I don't like reading books or articles, I prefer watching movies so I will rather watch the contents of the book in a movie"

That was when I knew she couldn't be helped if she doesn't like reading. No wonder she was so shallow and ordinary in the discussion.

Off course, that was the last date.

No one who read can ever be a fool or remain ignorant in any area of life. Books expose us to the knowledge of other wise people and equip us to contribute constructively in all areas of life.

Most of our problems are due to our ignorance in certain areas of life but the knowledge we need is wrapped up in a book somewhere.

The more books you read, the more answers you have to life's challenges.

If your partner or spouse is a reader, then a large percentage of marital problems will be solved with little effort.

God has been speaking to man from the beginning even until now and He greatly desires that His eternal words are written and kept safe for generations to read.

Now the words of God come not only in visions and trances or some sort of spiritually esoteric voices from space but God speaks to the human spirit in diverse ways such as ideas, inspirations, intuitive knowledge and even experiences.

When God speaks, He expects that His words are passed down the generations and the best way to do that is to write a good book.

For by the books, people shall know their history and understand their future. By the books, the wisdom of the fathers/mothers shall not be lost to the grave.

The Continuation of the Epistles ...

What formed a large portion of the Bible today are the epistles of Paul and other apostles. They didn't write those epistles with the intent of getting them into the Bible that is now read all over the world but they were just writing down what the Spirit of God revealed and laid in their hearts. But today, the epistles are the fulcrum on which the understanding of the new birth in Christ is hinged.

What if Apostle Paul and the other apostles didn't write down those epistles? Just imagine the Bible without the epistles! What would have happened to your understanding of the New birth in Christ?

When God speaks to you most times, the message is not just for you but for generations of other people because God is a generational God and as such, He expects you to write it down so that it is preserved for others to read and live. Are you writing down God's revelations? How many revelations have you lost because you didn't write them down?

Why You Must Write a Book!

God has always passed valuable information to people on earth to solve the problems of humanity and these information comes in forms of ideas, inspiration, knowledge, experience and revelations.

God expects us to pass these information down the generation so that future generations can benefit too and there are two basic ways to do that:

1. Verbal Communication: Parents or leaders tell younger ones about these information and the younger ones also tell their children and this goes down the lineage. This is very limited in effect and often lead to partial or total loss of the much needed information. Many parents died with their knowledge and inspiration, thereby depriving future of generation of solutions. God frowned at this and recommended the written method of communication.

2. Written Communication: This involves proper documentation of the knowledge or inspiration in a book for people to read. This is the most effective way to preserve useful information as books are often indestructible, at least not without intentional effort to do so.

Books preserve the knowledge and sort of immortalize the author's name.

Even God said "write the vision and make it plain" for others to read and run with. So God's preferred method of preservation of information is written communication.
