ADEYEMI WANTS TO LEAVE BUNDLES LIGA; CHELSEA AND MAN UNITED ARE INTERESTED

According to the latest report from Swiss Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Adeyemi is hoping to leave the Bundesliga next summer, with both Manchester United and Chelsea showing interest in him.

It is reported that Manchester United recently engaged in discussions with Mendes regarding the potential signing of Adeyemi, with the player having resolved to depart the Bundesliga next summer. His objective is clear: to shine for the German national team at the 2026 World Cup and secure the substantial contract he believes he deserves.

Manchester United have requested specific details regarding Adeyemi's situation and continue to monitor developments closely. Borussia Dortmund are striving to extend his contract, yet no agreement has been reached. The player has already set his sights on moving on and conveyed this intention to the club's management during recent discussions with his agent about renewing his own contract.

Furthermore, tensions between Adeyemi and coach Kovac have caused divisions within Dortmund's management, paving the way for his departure. Chelsea have also shown interest alongside Manchester United, though Dortmund's stance remains firm: Adeyemi's transfer fee will not fall below €80 million.

Barca still eyeing Grimaldo while Cancelo and Munoz possible to join

According to the latest report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are considering whether to strengthen their full-back positions, particularly on the left flank, which is currently under significant pressure.

The club had previously considered Grimaldo during the summer transfer window, and he remains a favoured option. Cancelo and Muñoz have also expressed their willingness to join.

It is reported that Barcelona are gradually drawing lessons from this season as they prepare for the upcoming summer transfer window, while also evaluating player performances. The squad has progressively identified certain positions with shortcomings and plans to make necessary investments in accordance with Financial Fair Play regulations and economic circumstances.

One position of particular concern is left-back, which has indeed been one of the most challenging areas for the team under Flick's management. The current first-choice player is Balde, but his performances have not reached the expected standard, with issues surfacing at crucial moments.

Furthermore, Barcelona's problem lies in the fact that backup left-backs Gerard Martin and Torrents have yet to demonstrate the potential to become regular starters. Regarding Gerard, his performances last season were commendable, fulfilling his defensive duties and showing flashes of brilliance in attack.

However, Barcelona pursues excellence, and Gerard still has shortcomings. As for the young Torrents, the club holds high hopes for him, but he currently appears somewhat raw, particularly defensively. While his physical and technical attributes fill the coaching staff with anticipation, they believe deploying him as a starter now could prove counterproductive.

Deco had hoped to sign Grimaldo, but the move fell through for financial reasons. Nevertheless, Grimaldo remains on the transfer radar, not only for his quality and performances but also because he has just one and a half years left on his Bayer Leverkusen contract, making him an attractive target.

Furthermore, Grimaldo's contract contains a clause permitting his transfer to a Spanish club for an offer between €15 million and €20 million. His desire remains to return to La Liga, and he is aware of Barcelona's interest.

Grimaldo represents a realistic and appealing option. Whilst Barcelona are evidently also interested in players like Nuno Mendes or Gvardiol, these individuals have recently renewed their contracts with their respective clubs, which face no pressure to sell. Consequently, they remain out of reach.

From Barcelona's perspective, the right-back position is relatively 'manageable'. Although there is no dedicated specialist for the role, both Koundé and Eric García are centre-backs by trade. The former has successfully converted to right-back, while the latter, despite current form issues, has proven his capabilities and extended his contract until 2028 this August.

The club also aims to renew Eric García's contract as recognition for his outstanding performances, during which he has also delivered commendably at right-back. Consequently, right-back is not an urgent position requiring reinforcement. Should a new signing be pursued, however, it must be a player capable of elevating the existing standard.

Dumfries exemplifies this. The Dutch international was linked with Barcelona last summer due to a clause in his contract allowing a €25 million release fee before 2028. However, Barcelona were unable to complete the deal at the time due to failing to meet the Financial Fair Play 1:1 rule.

Another full-back linked with Barcelona is João Cancelo. Although he commands a high salary at Al-Nassr, he harbours a particular fondness for Barcelona and recently expressed his desire to return to European football as soon as possible. Capable of playing on either flank, his attacking prowess is unquestionable, and he possesses genuine enthusiasm for the Catalan club.

Deco has long held him in high regard. However, Flick may harbour reservations about his overly attacking style, given that he faced criticism for defensive shortcomings during his own spell at Barcelona.

Another full-back dreaming of joining Barcelona is Colombian international Muñoz, who openly expressed his desire to wear the Blaugrana shirt in a recent interview. As an attacking wing-back with strong offensive instincts, he aspires to take his career to the next level.

This weekend, when Manchester City face Liverpool, Pep Guardiola will reach his 1,000th match as a manager. In an exclusive interview with the Manchester Evening News, Bernardo Silva shared his perspective on Guardiola. He revealed that Guardiola himself hadn't intended to stay at Manchester City for so long, but as time went on, he discovered there was much to accomplish. During this period, he has exerted a profound influence on the team, encompassing playing style, attacking philosophy and more.

Silva remarked: "When he first arrived, he only intended to stay for three or four years, but then he began to feel at home here. He felt this team still had much to accomplish, and every year I hear people say this is his final season..."

"I've been hearing that for five years now! Yet he keeps going! Because he believes he still possesses the energy to lead the team to a position where we can challenge for titles. That's excellent for the club. It's a tremendous achievement, truly remarkable. "

"The energy he brings to the team, even when he knows he's wrong... I know this because I've worked with him for so long. Sometimes, even when he knows he's wrong, he feels it's time to shout a bit to keep everyone alert and spark a response."

He knows what he says at half-time isn't right, yet even when the team's winning, he brings that passion. Sometimes he deliberately does things to keep us sharp – he does it on purpose.

It's hard to pin down his qualities simply, but I'd say first, because he was a top-level footballer himself, he understands the feel of playing on the pitch and how to win games. That helps him immensely – he played at the highest level and won numerous honours. Naturally, there's also the tactical dimension."

"Moreover, he's been remarkably generous with scheduling. One outstanding aspect of his work with the club is their recognition that we struggle to find rest periods. Even when our bodies haven't fully recovered, taking extra days off isn't beneficial physically."

"Yet overall, it's far more beneficial for our mental state. So when we return, our mindset is entirely different. Guardiola has always been generous with holidays and rest days, which is crucial for players nowadays."

"In terms of attacking philosophy, he elevated us to another level. He differs from other coaches; he's utterly captivated by football. For better or worse, he spends all day contemplating how to improve. Over the years, you've never seen Manchester City play the same way twice."

"We're constantly evolving because if we don't, opponents adapt and dictate our play. His obsession with football and relentless thinking are precisely why he excels – it's his passion, and he dedicates immense time to it."

"The new approach is rather effective. It involves committing more players forward to create problems while maintaining a solid defensive transition balance. Striking that equilibrium isn't easy, as you never know how opponents will defend. He's always trying to anticipate these scenarios and make predictions."

"We started experimenting last season against Bournemouth with the full-backs as the only players wide. We have numerous approaches, all created by him for this team. I believe they all work to some degree, depending on the opposition."

Di Marzio: Juve coach Tudor to be sacked, official announcement expected soon

Di Marzio: Juventus coach Tudor to be sacked, official announcement expected soon

According to multiple media reporters including Di Marzio, Juventus coach Igor Tudor is about to be sacked, and an official announcement is expected soon.

Di Marzio said: "Igor Tudor will no longer be the coach of Juventus. Only the final official announcement is missing. Juventus U23 coach Andrea Brambilla is the preferred candidate for interim coaching."

Juventus have lost their last 3 games and have gone 8 games without a win. They are currently ranked 8th in Serie A.

Tudor took over as Juventus coach at the end of March this year, replacing the then-sacked Thiago Motta. He has led the team in 24 games, achieving 10 wins, 8 draws and 6 losses. This season, Juventus have 12 points from 8 Serie A rounds and are ranked 8th.

Nani: It's fair that Yamal didn't win the Ballon d'Or
Nani is full of praise for Lamine Yamal, although he warns against elevating him to the altars of football.

Nani (38 years old, Portugal) is still capable of playing. He maintains a great figure, even though he hung up his boots at Estrela Amadora, his hometown club, almost a year ago. The winger, formerly of Valencia and Manchester United, among other teams, and Euro 2016 champion with Portugal, spoke to Diario AS during the Portugal Football Summit organized by the Portuguese Football Federation.

He looks in good shape. Could he play for Roberto Martínez's Portugal?

I've definitely forgotten that (laughs). They know how much the ball moves... But yes, I think I would really like to play for a national team that has that kind of ball control. It's fantastic to watch them play. How they play, how they run the ball, and how they keep it.

You were one of the first modern wingers. In Spain, we have Lamine Yamal. What do you think?

For me, Lamine Yamal is fantastic. He's pure talent. He has a great career ahead of him. He was nominated for the Ballon d'Or... everyone thought it would go to him. I think it's fair that he doesn't receive it yet, because he's a player we know will win. If he stays focused, if he maintains his dedication, if he goes through a normal process, he'll surely win his Ballon d'Ors.

Do you see him as the best in the world yet?

He'll be a very, very strong player worldwide and will help Spain win titles, as he has done before (Euro 2024). That's why he's a player I admire so much. Today, all the kids want to be like Lamine because they like the way he plays.

Lamine is at a superlative level, and at only 18 years old, do you think he'll achieve the success of Cristiano or Messi?

Messi and Cristiano?... We can't talk about that now, we can't do that, because we're destroying what we want him (Lamine) to become. We can't compare or compete with Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi. Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have done many things very well. The others who come after them, let them do their things too. And we'll applaud them. We can't compare. Much of what happens is that every year we compare. A good player comes out and we say, 'It's Cristiano.' Another comes out and... 'It's Messi.' And then what happens? I never saw them again. And why? Because pressure kills players. I prefer not to compare so as not to create false expectations for the kids.

Cristiano is close to 1,000 goals...

Everyone knew Cristiano when he was young. We soon realized this, as Cristiano was always a very developed player for his age. He's a year older than me, and I already knew him when he played for Nacional and I was at Sporting. Everyone already knew him. He didn't play with his own age, he played with older players, and what he did with the ball was fantastic. He was a very attractive player, and he was a player who inspired all the young players, because we saw what he did and what we wanted to do, and when I met him, I created a bond. He was a very different player from the others.

How long can Cristiano play?

I don't know. What I know is that he takes very good care of his body. And, to be honest, I don't know how long a human being can play football. But we've seen, I think, the Japanese or the Chinese have played until they're 50. I don't know if Cristiano wants to play at that level. I think he just wants to achieve his goals, because he probably wants to do something different after a few years. But until he plays, he'll do his best. And he'll definitely decide when to stop.

Portugal beat Spain in the Nations League. Can Roberto Martínez's Portugal become world champions?

There's excitement in Portugal, and we believe there's a chance of winning the World Cup. We know it's not just about having a player and his quality. The most important thing is in the moment of competition. When we won Euro 2016, that was our secret. The spirit and mentality of the group were there. That's why we won the European Championship. If Portugal goes to the World Cup with this mentality, we're already 50 percent there. There are players who are demonstrating an excellent level. We have some of the best players in the world in various positions. And I think it's a very talented national team, a fantastic generation.
