How I Became a Fashion Designer

How I became a fashion designer? Nothing special… or so I thought. 😅

When I was about 8 or 9 years old, back in primary school, I vividly remember being awarded the “Neatest Student” at our end-of-the-year party. My prize? A singlet and a pair of socks. 😂

Looking back, maybe that was the beginning of something I didn’t even know was in me.

When I got to Junior Secondary School, I maintained the same culture. My school uniform was always well-ironed and neatly worn—except, of course, after closing hours when I went to play football. 😂

Fast-forward to Senior Secondary School, and my sense of dressing became even more noticeable. My school uniform was admired by some of my classmates because the material was different from the usual one. My shirts usually had this nice shine to them, and my trousers were made from Chinos material.

By SS3, some students had started noticing my shirts so much that both guys and ladies began asking if they could have them. Eventually, I gave my shirt to the first person who asked. 😅

After secondary school, I asked myself, “What next?”

That was when I decided to learn tailoring, with the support and encouragement of my elder brother and my parents.

And from there, the journey began.

What started as simply being that boy who loved looking neat gradually became a passion for creating well-fitted and stylish outfits for others.

Today, I specialise in bespoke native outfits, creating pieces that make people look good, feel confident, and leave others thinking, “I want something like that too.”

The journey is still ongoing, but one thing is certain—I’m grateful for how it all started.
