NMDPRA seeks police support to tackle illegal petroleum activities NMDPRA has sought stronger police collaboration in Niger State to tackle illegal petroleum activities, fake officials and unlicensed operators.

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority has highlighted its efforts to attract up to $10 billion in private investment into Nigeria’s gas sector through the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund.

The Authority’s Chief Executive, Mallam Rabiu Umar, disclosed this during a high-level panel session at Gastech 2026, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 14 to 17.

Umar said the fund was established to provide seed capital and de-risk gas infrastructure projects, thereby encouraging greater participation by private investors.

He noted that the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund had already deployed significant seed capital as part of efforts to unlock investments in Nigeria’s gas value chain.

The NMDPRA used the global energy gathering to position Nigeria as a viable destination for investments in midstream and downstream gas operations.

The Trump administration is continuing to downplay the scale of the U.S.–Iran war even as newly obtained images show extensive damage to American military assets, including aircraft and base infrastructure across the Middle East.

ABC News published photos and video footage—some from a “Good Morning America” segment—showing wreckage of U.S. planes with American markings in desert terrain, destroyed facilities, and Pentagon officials acknowledging repeated Iranian drone and missile strikes on bases.

Service members who shared the images say the extent of the destruction has not been fully communicated to the American public.

The visuals include what appears to be a direct hit on a Boeing E‑3 Sentry radar aircraft at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, with its tail section separated from the fuselage, as well as damaged barracks, burned trailers, and destroyed vehicles at camps in
