A survey plan is a document that shows the geographical boundaries of any parcel of land or any land that is measured in a particular area. It is a document that gives you measurement and description of a particular land.

Any survey plan that is done, when it is finished and properly done, from anywhere in the world, you will be able to locate that said land based on the beacon numbers and the coordinates put on the said survey plans.

When a survey plan is prepared, the surveyor will submit a copy at the office of Surveyor General, for Lagos it is the office of the Surveyor General in Alausa.
