An Employer Specific Work Permit allows a foreign national to work in Canada under clearly defined conditions tied to one employer. π¨π¦πΌ
This means your work permit will specify:
β’ The name of the employer you can work for
β’ The location of the job (if applicable)
β’ The length of time you are authorized to work
Before applying, your employer must provide:
β’ A signed employment contract
β’ Either a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or an offer of employment number for LMIA exempt roles submitted through the Employer Portal.
This type of work permit is commonly used when a Canadian employer is hiring a foreign worker for a specific role.
If you are exploring opportunities to work in Canada and want to understand if this pathway may apply to you, send a DM π© to start the conversation.

An Open Work Permit allows you to work for most employers in Canada without being tied to one specific company. π¨π¦πΌ
This means you can change employers without applying for a new work permit.
However, open work permits cannot be used to work for employers who:
β’ Are listed as non compliant with immigration regulations, or
β’ Operate in certain restricted industries.
Open work permits are issued under specific programs or eligibility categories, including:
β’ Post Graduation Work Permit holders
β’ Spouses or partners of international students or workers
β’ Some permanent residence applicants
β’ Participants in certain youth mobility programs
In some situations, your spouse or dependent children may also be able to work, study, or live in Canada with you.

Sunday blessings to everyone. πΏππΎ
May today bring a moment of calm in the middle of lifeβs busy pace. May your heart be light, your mind clear, and your spirit renewed for the days ahead.
Take this day to pause, reflect, and give thanks for how far you have come. Even when the journey feels slow, every step forward matters. Every lesson, every challenge, and every quiet victory is shaping the person you are becoming.
As a new week approaches, may you walk into it with courage, wisdom, and a hopeful heart. May doors open where you need them, strength meet you where you feel weak, and opportunities find you at the right time.
Enjoy the peace of today. Let it refill your energy and restore your focus. πβ¨
Sunday blessings to you and your loved ones.
You did not achieve your goals this week?
So what?
Progress does not disappear because one week did not go as planned.
Some weeks teach.
Some weeks stretch you.
Some weeks simply remind you to pause and recalibrate.
What matters is that you start again.
New week. New focus. New energy.
Keep moving forward. π±β¨
Enjoy your weekend. Reset your mind, refill your energy, and prepare for the next chapter. πΏβοΈ
The Post Graduation Work Permit PGWP allows eligible graduates from designated learning institutions in Canada to gain valuable Canadian work experience π¨π¦π.
Important points to know:
β’ Available to graduates of eligible programs at designated learning institutions (DLIs)
β’ Work permit length depends on the duration of the study program
β’ Programs 2 years or more may qualify for up to a 3 year work permit
Recent updates also mean that most applicants must provide proof of language test results when applying.
If you are planning to apply:
β’ Take your approved language test early π
β’ Upload all required documents carefully π
β’ Missing documents can increase the risk of refusal
The PGWP is often an important step for graduates seeking Canadian work experience and future immigration opportunities.

Many people only hear about LMIA jobs, but Canadaβs immigration system includes several work permit pathways, depending on your situation.
This week, we break down four of them:
International Experience Canada (IEC)
A youth mobility program that allows young people from partner countries to live and work in Canada temporarily.
International Mobility Program Plus (IMPP)
Work permits are issued without an LMIA under international agreements, economic interests, or public policy exemptions.
Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
Allows eligible international students who graduate from Canadian institutions to gain Canadian work experience.
Employer Specific Work Permit (WP)
A work permit tied to a Canadian employer, often supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
