Designing for social media.

It's always safe to size your canvas to a 1:1 ratio. Meaning if your height is 5cm your width is also to be 5cm. That way your design will easily fit in as a post or dp (profile photo) on most social media platforms.

In a case where you aldeady have a design that isn't sized 1:1, it helps to do a little background and fit your design on it like I did with the blue background in the design above.

Remember to add a shadow beneath your design just to make it look a bit more realistic.

Grey or gray is an intermediate color between black and white. It is a neutral color or achromatic color, meaning literally that it is a color "without color", because it can be composed of black and white. It is the color of a cloud-covered sky, of ash and of lead.

Grey is one of my best colours because it can add the exact emotion I want to portray in a graphics composition. It's calm and dispassionate, but too much grey, particularly if it's a dark grey–can be depressing. Grey is the perfect neutral, as it can moderate brighter hues and pull a color scheme together.

Little wonder it is a favourite among designers.
