Quick read news and deep dives on Nigeria’s economy and business buzz delivered with crystal clarity.

As February closes and Q1 enters its final stretch, several signals are converging across security, infrastructure and monetary policy.

This week’s 234Digest examines:

• $22m in fresh venture capital into Abuja-based defence tech firm Terrahaptix, just weeks after an earlier $11.8m raise — underscoring investor appetite for locally built surveillance systems protecting critical infrastructure.

• ₦2.8tn in electricity subsidy arrears approved for settlement through sovereign bonds rather than cash — though power generation companies have rejected the audit outcome, introducing ex*****on risk into the liquidity reset.

• A 50 basis point rate cut from the Central Bank of Nigeria as inflation slows for a tenth consecutive month.

• Emerging trade pressure linking domestic security performance to external market access.

Individually, these are headlines.

Taken together, they suggest stabilization under adjustment rather than acceleration — a recalibration of risk across systems.

Super congratulations to the Super Falcons after they made history on Saturday with a thrilling comeback.

Nigeria lifted the Women Africa Cup of Nations trophy for a record-extending 10th time with a 3-2 win against Morocco after a phenomenal comeback that left Rabat in shock as the host nation let their two-goal lead slip.

The thrilling comeback unfolded at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, where the Atlas Lionesses had hoped to clinch their first-ever continental championship on home soll.

Morocco's captain, Ghizlane Chebbak, set the tone early with a stunning curling shot from outside the box in the 12th minute, followed by Sanaâ Mssoudy's scuffed shot that doubled the lead just before halftime.

However, the Super Falcons refused to give up. Esther Okoronkwo sparked a dramatic turnaround, scoring a penalty kick in the 64th minute after Nouhalla Benzina's handball.

The momentum shifted decisively in Nigeria's favour as Okoronkwo turned provider, delivering a precise pass to Folashade ljamilusi, who equalized with a left-footed strike in the 71st minute.

The winning goal came courtesy of substitute Jennifer Echegini, who capitalized on another Okoronkwo assist, slotting home a free kick with two minutes remaining.

Congratulations are in order for Nigeria’s Super Falcons after the team secured a spot in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations final with a thrilling 2-1 victory over reigning champions South Africa.

Michelle Alozie, a striker for the Houston Dash, scored the winning goal in second-half stoppage time, capitalizing on a long-range opportunity in the 94th minute. This followed a penalty kick by Linda Motlhalo in the 60th minute that equalized Rasheedat Ajibade's early spot kick.

The win, in Morocco, propels the Super Falcons forward in their pursuit of a record 10th Women's AFCON title.
