Big Dreams give you sleepless nights
Dream big anyway...
They are only waiting for the gaint within to translate them to reality.
Big dreams are like shadows, they don't look real but with time you will see the real picture.

EDUCATION AND NOT CERTIFICATION

From statistics taken mid last year in USA, Nigeria happens to have a larger number of certified individuals, seven out of ten people have obtained their second degree (masters degree).

The question then is why is Nigeria still stagnant amist the affluence of intellectuals.
This problem is embedded in the inability of our elites to transit the class room theoretical knowledge to our everyday practical world.
Yes as some will say "science is the study of nature" but what is the need observing nature if we can not apply it to better our lives.

The second part of this problem is embedded in our education system. Students do not read to obtain the knowledge rather to be certified that they have obtained the knowledge. This is the only reason why a first class student of electrical and electronics engineering can not change a faulty lamp holder. The essence of going to school is not to acquire a certificate but the knowledge itself.
The reason why the streets of Nigeria are flooded with certified illiterates. If we want to change a nation the first part of the process is to change their ideology. All we see from the youth is nothing but the aftermath of gross ignorance. Please lets
get educated and not certified.

Technology
Twitter and Facebook
Our favorite games
What’s in the latest that technology makes
Now we can share with a touch of a finger
And we can post on our favorite singer
WhatsApp and Face Time
Movies that stream
Couldn’t imagine this in my wildest dream
Sending a picture at top record speed
Now, what is happening?
Why, it’s Live Feed
So, in this era where everything’s quick
What do you value, what do you pick
Why should we bother to go anywhere
Technology’s fast but friendships are rare
We don’t need to be social because everything’s home
Interconnected, but we feel alone
This is the sacrifice
This is deal
Things are disposable
But nothing seems real
We must remember that we’re not replaced
And not lose humanity in all that we face
Technology’s useful but socializing matters
Life’s accelerated, but relationships – battered
Let’s combine advancement with old-fashioned ideals
And we’ll experience how an authentic , rich life truly feels

Whether or not you can
never become great at
something, you can always
become better at it. Don’t ever
forget that. And don’t say, “I’ll
never be good.” You can
become better, and one day
you’ll wake up and you’ll find
out how good you actually
became.

6 Brutal Truths About
Productivity No One Wants to
Talk About
Humans are prolific procrastinators. People
have struggled with habitual hesitation going
back to ancient civilizations. It’s easy to
make plans and throw dates on your
calendar, and yet it’s practically inevitable
that you’ll let some deadlines fly whilst you
still have some tasks unfinished.
Every one strives to do better every day. But
the harsh reality is that until you are 100%
committed to doing actual work, nothing else
matters. Your fancy goals and weekly to-do
lists won’t help you if you can’t commit to
doing them.
People have the mental capacities to make
ambitious plans, yet almost no time at all to
put them into practice. It’s easier to plan but
a lot more difficult to do something about
those plans. No webinar, no online course,
no ebook, no mentorship will help you if you
do not go all in and get things done and
actually check them off your to-do list.
Confused, lost and uncertain? You are not
alone. Feeling under pressure to deliver? It’s
the same old problems for everyone.
Sometimes you lose control. There are many
occasions when you feel uncomfortable and
unfulfilled because of your inactions.
Many people who hear or read what
productivity hacks and strategies won’t do
anything with the information. They go back
to their lives, don’t change anything and get
the same results they were getting before:
not getting stuff done.
Your actions define you, not
your thoughts
“Action is the foundational key to all success.”
–Pablo Picasso
Don’t spend all your time thinking about
everything you can make better or do.
Conceptualizing a better world won’t help
you make progress. Until you start doing
what needs to be done, you’re not actually
making a difference.
Good intention is a great thing but it counts
for nothing if you don’t take action. Action
begets results. Results is what you want not
ideas. You are judged by your outputs, not
your thoughts. It pays to take real action in
the direction of your goals.
Getting started is the
biggest hurdle!
“To think is easy. To act is difficult. To act as
one thinks is the most difficult.” — Johann
Wolfgang Von Goeth
The biggest hurdle for many of us is simply
getting started. Making that important
decision to take a step. You can be as big and
successful as you can possibly imagine if you
build that mindset you need to push yourself
to make that all important decision to just
start.
You have everything you need to make an
impact in the world if you can get past the
many reasons why should postpone that
task. Don’t think too far into the future. Use
what you have right now at where you are
and witness the magic of getting things done.
You will never be able to do it all
Success demands a singleness of purpose. —
Vince Lombardi
Do one thing well, not three things badly!
Many people want do well at work. And
make the most of their skills. It’s incredible
what you risk and do to progress. But
sometimes you will have nothing to show for
it. What you choose to do may be good use
of your time but you probably won’t be able
to show real results.
You won’t be able to do everything this week
or this month. And that’s okay. As long as
you are consistent and stick to the process.
Sometimes priorities change. That’s part of
the journey. It’s better to be clear about what
you want to get done at any moment in time
than combining multiple tasks.
It’s so easy to get seduced into the
importance of a task, project or job and
drive yourself insane to over deliver or
impress. But it’s always important to take
time out and ask: What am I risking or
taking for granted? What could I have done
different to achieve the same results? At the
end of the day, is that the best use of my
time?
Distraction is the enemy!
“If you see distraction externally, you end up
creating an internally distracted state.” —
Tim Ferriss
Demand for our time is increasingly
exceeding our capacity — draining us of the
energy we need to bring our skill and talent
fully to life.
We are currently exposed to an
unprecedented flood of information and
requests than ever before. And we feel
compelled to read and respond at all hours
of the day and night. Being selective, doing
less, is the path of the productive. It pays to
focus on the important few and ignore the
rest.
“The net is designed to be an interruption
system, a machine geared to dividing
attention,” Nicholas Carr explains in his
book “ The Shallows: What the Internet Is
Doing to Our Brains. ” “We willingly accept
the loss of concentration and focus, the
division of our attention and the
fragmentation of our thoughts, in return for
the wealth of compelling or at least diverting
information we receive.”
There is no perfect time!
“Do not wait: the time will never be ‘just right’.
Start where you stand, and work with
whatever tools you may have at your
command and better tools will be found as
you go along.” — Napoleon Hill
Stop looking for a perfect time to start work.
Are you waiting for a perfect time to do that
task or start that project? There can never be
a best time to do anything. The perfect time
is now. You may have convinced yourself
that now is not the best time because of X, Y,
Z reasons.
But come tomorrow, you will still give
yourself another excuse. Just get on with it.
Re-clarify your goals (get rid of your fuzzy
goals). What exactly do you want to achieve?
What should you do to get there? What are
the steps to take? Does your current work
align with that? If not, what can you do
about it?
Sometimes the best thing to do
is: nothing
“Reflect on what you do in a day. You may
have never realised how some simple
harmless activities rob you of precious time.”
— Vivek Naik
Life is a challenge. Sometimes it’s common to
feel like you’re constantly working against
the clock every day, and moving plans and
tasks around to meet deadlines. And guess
what, when you do take time to relax … you
feel guilty. But you shouldn’t.
Many productivity resources are focused on
what you can do MORE of in order to
achieve your goals. But MORE is hard to
achieve. Many people can’t get a lot done.
And they get anxious and stressed even
more.
Doing nothing refreshes your mind. Taking
breaks in our mental work is equally helpful.
Brief diversions improve focus, according to
research. Taking a break allows you to come
back to your task with renewed energy and
sense of purpose.
The next time you feel guilty about doing
nothing, consider how much more effective
it may make you in the long run.

There once was a little boy who wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Tw***ies and a six-pack of root beer and started his journey. When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old woman. She was sitting in the park just staring at some pigeons.

The boy sat down next to her and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old lady looked hungry, so he offered her a Tw***ie. She gratefully accepted it and smiled at him. Her smile was so pretty that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered her a root beer. Once again she smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.

As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was, and he got up to leave but before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old woman and gave her a hug. She gave him her biggest smile ever. When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, “What did you do today that made you so happy?” He replied, “I had lunch with God.” But, before his mother could respond, he added, “You know what? She’s got the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen!”

Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, returned to her home. Her son was stunned by the look of peace on her face and he asked, “Mother, what did you do today that made you so happy?” She replied, “I ate Tw***ies in the park with God.” But, before her son responded, she added, “You know, he’s much younger than I expected.”

Moral: God is everywhere. We just need to share our happiness and make others smile to feel him.

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
Your Choice Is Here
Submitted by Stephen Roos
Here I am laying down listening to the beat of my heart happier than ever stronger than ever. Got to the point in my life where I work every night till the sweat runs like water on the floor because I said enough is enough I stood up I listened and I made my choice. Now, now it is time for you to make yours are you just gonna sit there and take what life is handing you or are you gonna get off your ass and start telling life what to give you. Because that, that is what living is all about. Not laying in bed crying about the ones you can't have or those who don't want you. Trust me I was there I did that but I stopped I opened my eyes and I realized that those people they are gonna be the ones to come running back one day asking you to treat them the way you always did. That moment is when you have to make the choice to be stronger or to be well to be who you were. In that case you have failed in becoming a better person. Now I ain't saying that I'm an expert on living Coz I ain't but trust me when I say that letting go is what strengthens you in life. I know it doesn't always feel that way and you feel like you need someone but in all honesty do you, do you really? All you need in your life is having those around you that encourage you to become a stronger person and that can help you become a better human. Those people well those are the friends you call family and those are the ones you need to keep.

So stop using excuses in your life and start keeping your word not to those you promised something but to your self because soon enough you will realize that sticking to your word made you the new and improved you. Stop using excuses and start owning up to what you did and said!

HELPING OTHERS
Supporting Others
Submitted by America valles
Well my name is America Valles and I am a sophomore at Ennis High School. And I would like to tell my story that inspired me to write it . However, my very passion is helping others in anything well basically most in health problems. For example, one day that I was in 5th grade sitting in my classroom doing some work that the teacher told us to do quietly , and my teacher got a call from the from office that someone came to pick me up. So she took the call and said “ So America you're leaving early today and have a good afternoon”. But I didn’t know that someone was going to pick me up early because, my mom didn’t tell me nothing when she drop me off in the morning. So I left school and my aunt didn’t tell me nothing she just drove and drove without saying any word to me or why she picked me up instead of my mom? Furthermore, I was just wondering where we were heading towards but I didn’t get any information until, I told my aunt “ Why did you pick me up and not my mom? And where are we going because, my mom didn’t tell me nothing that you were going to pick me up or take me somewhere.” She end up telling me what had happened and why she picked me up and she said “ Well I got a call from your mom to pick you up early because, something had happen to your aunt your mom’s sister that she was at the hospital very ill because of the “Lung Cancer” she had in her . As I was hearing that about my aunt I was feeling something in my heart and inside my body I didn’t know what I was feeling but it was something. However, we finally got to the Baylor Hospital and asked for my aunt where was she and how she was doing. They told us that she was very ill because and they couldn't infer if she was going to save herself or just not survived. I called my mom to see where she was with the rest of the family so I could go with her and I did. But when I saw my family they were all crying and crying because, the doctor had said to them that she didn’t have any faith or chance of getting saved. After, the doctor said that about her I went to her room where she was and I spoke to her. She was telling that she just didn’t have any strength or hope to be fighting against the cancer. But I kept telling her that I needed her and not just me but all of her family did too and all her advice and all her spirit she had. I gave her like a huge long speech but after what I had told her she didn’t give up and she kept fighting over that ugly Lung Cancer. By the end of the 2 years passed the doctor told her she was FREE FROM THE CANCER!!!!! After she got that news we were all happy to see her back and being back with her family that missed her so much. That’s why I want to help people and others that think they cant fight over there ill.
