GIVE YOUR CAREER AN EDGE
Gone are the days when the world was ruled by
the strongest. The world is ruled presently by
the most knowledgeable. People gain knowledge
from various field of study like accounting, law,
medicine etc. The rapid pace of development in
our society gives clear indications that academic
qualifications like ND, NCE, HND, Bsc, MSC etc
are not enough because of the inability of their
syllabus to keep in touch with current trend in
respective disciplines.
Little wonder different organizations prefer those
with professional qualification at the expense of
those with only academic qualification
irrespective of their level of attainment.
Accounting being a very competitive and highly
demanded profession is regulated in Nigeria by
the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria
(ICAN). Members of this body are referred to as
chartered accountants. Chartered accountants
are held at high esteem because of their
expertise and acquired knowledge. To become a
chartered accountant, one needs to seat and
pass the exam of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
It will amaze you to know that becoming a
chartered accountant does not necessarily
require a Bsc, HND or a higher qualification.
Shocking! Isn't it?
Yes, that is the fact. With your SSCE (WAEC,
NECO or NABTEB) you can enrol and seat for
ICAN exam. This gives you a number of
opportunities which include;
1. It makes it possible for you to become a
chartered accountant within two years and half
by keeping you grounded with necessary facts
and figures.
2. It affords you the opportunity of securing
direct admission into 200Level in any university
of your choice. It equally gives you the
opportunity of running an HND programme in any
polytechnic of your choice in courses like
accounting, insurance, banking and finance,
economics, business administration etc within
one year and half of completing the first phase
of the programme.
3. It is not limited to only commercial students;
art and science students can also apply provided
the student have a minimum of credit in
Mathematics, English and any other three
subjects.
4. You equally have a high chance of getting a
good job.
The benefits are numerous.
Mind blowing; Wow!
