No society succeeds optimally without the consent of its women. A nation that makes her women small, belittled and inconsequential will line up behind others who trust their progress to women and men in respectful equilibrium.

This year's international women's day is a reminder of the opportunities we must never forsake, the possibilities we must create and the actions we must accelerate.

Ayomi's words were whispers in the wind, silenced by the expectations of others. She was the daughter, the sister, the friend – never the leader. But Ayomi's heart beat with a different rhythm. One day, she stumbled upon a poetry club in her community. The words of Maya Angelou ignited a fire within her. Ayomi began to write, to speak, and to roar. Her voice trembled at first, but with each passing day, it grew stronger. She found her truth, her purpose, and her importance. Ayomi's voice was no longer a whisper; it was a thunderstorm that shook the world.

Nsibidi, the club's founder, noticed Ayomi's growth and approached her after a performance. "Your words are a reflection of your soul, Ayomi," Nsibidi said, her eyes shining with warmth. "Never let anyone dull your sparkle." Ayomi smiled, feeling a sense of validation and belonging. With Nsibidi's guidance, Ayomi continued to soar, inspiring others to find their own voice.

Nsibidi leaned in, a knowing glint in her eye. "Ayomi, it's time to share your story and ideas with a wider audience – you should apply to speak at SPILL, Africa's premier knowledge party for women."

Making the point clear is imperative. We have experienced massive shifts in how society responds to women. But more shifts are coming. They will be definitive, purposive and empowering.

We had an amazing team of volunteers that worked tirelessly to ensure that SPILL LAGOS 2024 was a success.

We celebrate each and everyone of them and look forward to creating more awesome experiences together.

Words made her tall as she transmitted her thoughts to the audience in meanings marked by rhythm and movement.

On the SPILL stage, she was a poet, a storyteller, a raconteur, all rolled in one. On the back of Ireoluwa Fadipe's craft, the audience climbed to experience euphoria made out of confidence, intelligence and creativity.

Her 3 part spoken word performance gave character to a well curated SPILL LAGOS 2024 event.
