His nickname, “Olofa Ina” (meaning “Owner of the Flame Arrow”), came from a popular role he played as a fiery and commanding warrior in Yoruba epic films. The character became so iconic that the name stuck with him throughout his career.

He began acting in the early 1970s, performing in traveling theater troupes, including working with legendary figures like Duro Ladipo and Oyin Adejobi. These groups toured towns and villages performing Yoruba plays rooted in history and myth. Olofa Ina stood out for his commanding voice, charismatic presence, and deep knowledge of Yoruba culture and language.
