Iconic Nigerian Olympians (MFR) and two times Olympian Emmanuel Ojeli passed the baton to athletes from the Making of Champions (MoC) Academy, representing the transition from current legends to the next.

Tokyo 2020 finalist has thrown down the gauntlet after dominating the men’s 100m at MTN CHAMPS Ibadan, making a statement on Day 2 of the competition holding simultaneously at the Lekan Salami Stadium and University of Ibadan Sports Complex.

Veteran quarter-miler and three-time Olympian, joins the MTN CHAMPS family, as an Ambassador for the first leg in Calabar, a city she proudly calls home.
However, co-sponsor: Power Services...this partnership reflects our commitment to supporting Nigerian youth and fostering athletic excellence nationwide.

More also, two standout athletes discovered at MTN CHAMPS Season 3 and recently unveiled into the Making of Champions Athletics Academy have received a three-year sponsorship from (BPS), a leading Nigerian energy technology company.

Following the lead of MTN Nigeria (lead sponsor at MoC Athletics Academy, currently supporting 20 Athletes), BPS has also reinforced its long-term commitment to youth development and structured athletic excellence by supporting two athletes from 2026 through 2028.

The two athletes are Rebecca Enilolobo and Destiny Reuben. This sponsorship will provide comprehensive Senior Secondary School scholarships and elite performance support for them.

Nigerian Stars Shine at the NCAA Indoor Championships! 🏆
It was a historic weekend for Team Nigeria in Arkansas as our athletes stamped their mark on collegiate track and field:

✨ Samuel Ogazi ran a blistering 44.57s to win the men’s 400m, setting a new African indoor record and becoming the joint 4th fastest man in history! He now has both NCAA indoor and outdoor 400m titles.

🥉 Ella Onojuvwevwo claimed bronze in the women’s 400m with 50.76s, after setting a massive African record of 50.28s in qualifying, proving her rising status on the global stage.

🥇 Temitope Adeshina defended her NCAA women’s high jump title by clearing 1.97m, equaling her personal best and Nigerian national record! She also attempted 2.00m, chasing the NCAA record.

⚡ Kanyinsola Ajayi stormed to the men’s 60m title in 6.45s, tying the collegiate and African records for the second time this season! His teammate Israel Okon finished fifth, while Jelani Watkins (USA) took silver.

🥈 Alabama’s 4x400m relay team, anchored by Ogazi, earned silver with 3:03.60, securing First Team All-America honors.

The capital city and heartbeat of the nation Abuja is poised to host the most anticipated National Para Sports Games.

Notwithstanding, many forget there's 'Ability in Disability' and with just 12 days remaining until the Opening Ceremony event, excitement is palpable across the Country for what promises to be a landmark and historic event as well as sports development.

Organized by the esteemed National Sports Commission (NSC), the Games are scheduled to run from the 26th of March to the 3rd of April 2026 inside the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

The Ivorian sprint icon Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith has been appointed Vice President of the Fédération Ivoirienne d’Athlétisme

The multiple-time African champion has taken a leadership role, becoming the new Ivorian Vice president. In her new role, Ta Lou-Smith will focus on identifying and supporting Ivorian athletes living abroad, guiding them toward representing Côte d’Ivoire and strengthening the nation’s presence in international competitions.

One of Africa’s most accomplished sprinters, Ta Lou-Smith is a double silver medalist in the 100m and 200m at the World Athletics Championships, a multiple medalist at the African Championships, and one of the continent’s fastest women ever with a personal best of 10.72s in the 100m.
