Affordable European Universities(AKA Where Your Wallet Can Breathe)
Looking to study abroad without selling your father’s land?
Here’s a list of European universities where school fees won’t give you high blood pressure. Think of it as your “Japa on a Budget” guide
1. University of Messina – Italy
Tuition for Non-EU Students: €156 to €1,000/year
Italy is famous for pasta, pizza, and apparently, pocket-friendly tuition. If you submit the proper financial documents (not your mum’s pepper soup recipe), your fees can be as low as Naira to Dollar during Obasanjo's era. But if you don’t submit your ISEE (Italian income document), they’ll just slap you with the standard rate—no long talk.
2. Université Paris-Saclay – France
Tuition: €3,770/year (but could be reduced to €243/year)
Don’t let the Paris name scare you—this school understands the struggles of international students. Most Master’s programs offer waivers that bring tuition down to €243. That’s the same amount EU students pay, meaning you can live like a French citizen without the French bank account.
3. University of Bergamo – Italy
Tuition: €156 – €1,000/year
Italy again—these people clearly have a soft spot for International Students. If you apply for regional scholarships (aka DSU), your tuition might drop faster than PHCN brings light. Just be ready to fill some forms and meet deadlines that don’t follow “African time.”
4. University of L’Aquila – Italy
Tuition: €156 – €1,000/year
L’Aquila is another Italian school with a heart of gold. Apply for the right scholarship, and you could pay next to nothing. That’s money saved for jollof rice, Wi-Fi, and Netflix (because life’s not just about reading).
5. University of Akureyri – Iceland
Tuition: €0 (just registration fee ~€550/year)
Yes, you read that correctly—tuition is zero. Nada. Zilch. All you have to pay is a small registration fee. The only catch? It’s cold. Very cold. You may turn into a frozen puff-puff, but at least you’ll be a well-educated puff-puff.
6. University of Luxembourg – Luxembourg
Tuition: €400 – €800/year
Luxembourg may sound fancy, but the fees are humble. Unless you’re doing an MBA (those ones always want to show off), most programs are cheaper than a new iPhone. You could finish your degree before your uncle finishes building that house in the village.
7. University of Nantes – France
Tuition: €3,770/year (often reduced to €243/year)
Nantes sounds like the name of your neighbor’s cousin, but it’s actually a city in France offering serious tuition discounts. They also link up with Campus France for scholarships, so you can study while still affording Sunday rice and plantain.
8. University of Basel – Switzerland
Tuition: CHF 850 per semester (~€1,750/year)
Swiss universities don’t discriminate—same fees for everyone, whether you're from Abuja or Zurich. It’s not free, but at least you won’t have to rob a bank or call your entire village for contributions.
If you're a International student planning to study abroad, these schools prove that quality education doesn't have to cost your future. Just bring your documents, your A-game, and maybe a jacket (especially if you’re heading to Iceland). Na your time to shine!

Week 1: Awareness & Benefits
1️⃣ Introduction to CNG (Monday)
What is CNG?
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a clean and affordable alternative fuel used in vehicles. It consists mainly of methane and is stored at high pressure. Unlike petrol or diesel, CNG burns more cleanly and emits fewer harmful pollutants.
Why switch to CNG?
• Cost-Effective: CNG costs significantly less per liter compared to petrol and diesel.
• Eco-Friendly: Produces up to 90% fewer carbon emissions, reducing pollution.
• Better Engine Life: CNG burns efficiently, reducing carbon deposits inside the engine, leading to less wear and tear.
• Safety: CNG is lighter than air, meaning it dissipates quickly in case of a leak, making it safer than liquid fuels.
