Deputy National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), North chapter, Senator Lawal Shuaibu has lamented what he described as the growing resort to illegalities by the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, saying the APC is now a best of lawlessness.
In a highly caustic statement issued Wednesday in Abuja, Shuaibu regretted that after his letter of May 28, 2019 warning Oshiomhole about the landmines he was laying for himself and the APC, the party leadership has continued to act in breach of all relevant laws.
Vanguard earlier reported that contending forces in the national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, seemed to have sheathed their swords, as the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, inaugurated Arc. Waziri Bulama as acting National Secretary of the party.
Bulama’s nomination had suffered a series of setbacks for several months, as the party’s National Vice Chairman (North East), Comrade Mustapha Salihu, kicked against his candidature, describing his emergence as a product of narrow interests.
Salihu had accused Oshiomhole of trying to foist Bulama on the party without considering the position of the North East zonal chapter of the APC, which he (Salihu) chairs.
The matter had degenerated into a string of lawsuits, with anti-Oshiomhole forces teaming up with his state governor, Godwin Obaseki, who had been at loggerheads with the national chairman.

They are protesting against the sack of the Managing Director of TCN, Gur Mohammed. They are also calling for the immediate resignation of the Power Minister.
The FG had yesterday sacked the Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Mr Usman Mohammed, and appointed Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, an engineer, as acting managing director.
A statement by the Minister of Power, Mr Sale Mamman, signed by his Special Adviser, Media and Communications, Aaron Artimas, however, did not give specific reason for Mohammed’s removal, but said it was part of the reorganisation of the company.

Journalists, doctors, other essential workers suffer as Police disregard 20/05/2020

Essential workers in Lagos, including doctors and journalists, were, last night, stopped from going about their duties by the Police, in enforcement of the curfew imposed by the Federal Government to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some journalists and health workers were also arrested by policemen, who said they were acting on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.
Called to prevail on his men to allow journalists passage, the CP said: “Everybody is covered by this curfew. That is the order.”
He said nobody was exempted from the curfew, and dismissed all appeals to allow journalists held by his men to go.
Vanguard gathered that the Police in Lagos might have misread their orders from the Police High Command in Abuja, which gave orders to Lagos Police Command not to exempt anybody from the curfew.
All Vanguard staff, as well as workers of other news media, who left office after work, yesterday, could not get to their homes, as they were held by the security men.
It is also not known how many lives may be endangered, as health workers were also held down, in addition to trucks conveying foodstuffs and petroleum products.
“This is contrary to the assurance given to us by the Presidential Task Force, that workers on essential services were exempted from the curfew.”
