" Bandits will start targeting ministers, senators and even state governors.
" When a General falls into the hands of non state actors, it signals a serious erosion of tactical detterence. If this trend continues unchecked, the next target may not be soldiers or civilians alone, they could include ministers, senators and even state governors.
" Bandits now operate with sophisticated intelligence capabilities, heavy weaponry and a level of audacity that increasingly challenges state authority.
" We must stop negotiating with criminal groups and advocate for a comprehensive military and intelligence offensive against terrorist and bandit network. "_

ON THIS DAY IN NIGERIAN HISTORY
June 11, 1994: MKO Abiola Declares Himself President at Epetedo

Thirty-two years ago today, on June 11, 1994, Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola stood before thousands of supporters in Epetedo, Lagos Island, and made one of the boldest declarations in Nigerian political history.
Almost exactly one year after the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, Abiola publicly declared himself the lawful President of Nigeria.
The election he claimed had been widely regarded as the freest and fairest in Nigeria's history. Results showed him winning across ethnic, religious, and regional lines, including victories in several Northern states. Yet the military government of General Ibrahim Babangida annulled the election before the final declaration of results.
For months, Abiola pursued political negotiations and dialogue. But by June 1994, convinced that the military authorities had no intention of restoring his mandate, he took a different path.
Standing in the historic Epetedo area of Lagos, Abiola denounced the annulment as a theft of the Nigerian people's democratic will. He declared that the military government lacked legitimacy and called on Nigerians to reject authoritarian rule.
One of the most memorable lines from the declaration was:
"You cannot shave a man's head in his absence."
The speech electrified supporters but alarmed the military government of General Sani Abacha.
Twelve days later, on June 23, 1994, security forces surrounded Abiola's residence in Ikeja. He was arrested and charged with treason.
What followed was four years of detention.
During that period, Nigeria witnessed one of the most turbulent chapters in its post-Civil War history. Pro-democracy activists were arrested, opposition voices were silenced, and political tensions deepened. In 1996, Abiola's wife, Kudirat Abiola, was assassinated in Lagos.
Then, on July 7, 1998, while still in detention and on the verge of possible release negotiations, MKO Abiola died under controversial circumstances.
To many Nigerians, the Epetedo Declaration was more than a political speech.
It became a symbol of resistance against military rule and a reminder that democracy often demands enormous personal sacrifice.
Today, June 12 is officially recognised as Nigeria's Democracy Day, and Abiola's role in the struggle for democratic governance remains one of the defining chapters of modern Nigerian history.

If the June 12, 1993 election had been allowed to stand, how different do you think Nigeria's political history would have been?

FUNNY EXCUSES HUSBANDS AND WIVES GIVE TO AVOID S£X

Marriage has taught me that some people can become Senior Advocates of Excuses when it is time for bedroom duties.

1. I have a slight headache.
2. I am fasting.

3. I just applied cream.
4. The children may wake up.
5. I have an early meeting tomorrow.

6. The generator consumed all my energy.
7. Let me finish this movie first.

8. I ate too much.
9. I am too hungry.

10. The weather is too hot.

My favourite is:

“I am praying.”

Meanwhile, immediately after the prayer, the person will sleep like a government project abandoned halfway.

Dear husbands and wives, if you don’t want to cooperate, just say so.

Stop turning ordinary bedroom matters into a Supreme Court case with twenty-seven adjournments.

Our marriages must work.

What is the funniest excuse you have ever heard?

"Kwakwanso was able to field all his loyalist as contestants In NDC.

In the same NDC, none of Obi’s loyalists got Ticket . Not even in his state, Anambra.

Instead, Dickson gave tickets to his own loyalists. All these Dickson loyslists with Tickets will win, riding Obi’s popularity across SS and SE

Many Of Kwakwanso’s loyslists in Kano will also win their elections .

As regards Obi, he is not going to be president unless u are fooling urself.

Ultimately , in 2027:

Kwakwanso will get something out of the elections by having his structure remain in elective positionsin his state.
He loses nothing.

Dickson too will have his people in elective positions accross SS and SE states and become a regional/national political force to reckon with post 2027.
All thanks to Foolish and selfish Peter Obi who thinks only about himself and none of his loyalists

Obi wins nothing.
No presidency
None of his loyalists benefit from the whole exercise .

Point being made:
Never follow a selfish leader
Open ur eyes while u follow

Insecurity: Acquire arms to defend yourselves, Emir tells the subjects

The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Muhammad Samaila Mera, has called on his subjects to legally acquire weapons to protect their communities against persistent attacks by bandits.

He also urged communities in the emirate to remain vigilant and take proactive measures against terrorists and criminal elements that often invade the areas.

The monarch made the call during a meeting with district heads, village heads, and ward heads at his palace in Argungu.

He added that communities should consider raising funds collectively to purchase legally approved weapons for self-defence.

“If you acquire such weapons legally, make sure the bandits are aware that your community possesses the means to defend itself. This alone can serve as a deterrent and discourage attacks,” he said.

He stressed that Islam does not encourage people to remain helpless in the face of violence.

“It is not right for a Muslim to remain passive while criminals kill people, kidnap innocent citizens, and r**e our women. Be prepared to defend yourselves, your families, and your communities against any attack,” the Emir stated.

The royal father lamented that many communities had become vulnerable because they lack the means to defend themselves.

He said, “When bandits attack, people start running, including village heads. This is happening because communities do not have adequate means of self-defence.”

He clarified that he was not encouraging communities to take the law into their own hands or engage in acts of terrorism, but rather advocating lawful self-defence, noting that the security challenge has become too overwhelming for security agencies alone to handle.

He said it was disheartening for communities to continue to lose lives without any form of resistance, while warning against ethnic violence and extrajudicial killings.

The emir warned that he would not support anyone carrying arms to attack other ethnic groups or engage in unlawful killings.

He said many of the attacks are reprisals, he therefore urged the communities not to carry out revenge attacks against innocent people because every unlawful killing only breeds another cycle of revenge.

The emir said that, although many members of the Lakurawa group had left the area, they had allegedly left behind armed bandits who continue to terrorize communities and maintain links with their former collaborators.

He called on communities across the Argungu Emirate to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and uphold the fear of God in all their dealings.

For Ayodele Fayose to quickly come out to accuse Gov. Seyi Makinde of orchestrating Kidnapping in Oyo State, it is enough evidence that Fayose and Wike have hands in what is happening in Oyo state.
Remember Wike had said hd will put fire in Oyo State.

03/06/2026

Wike openly said he will put fire in Oyo State. Now there is fire in Oyo State.
