No light? No wahala.

Read how to keep your tomatoes fresh for days without a fridge.

1. Remove any that are soft or spoiling
2. Keep them dry away from heat, water or hot kitchen near gas (moisture is the enemy)
3. Store in a basket (not nylon), away from direct sunlight
Bonus tip: You can blend and store in jars with oil or salt!

Not all fruits belong in the fridge!

* Keeping some fruits in the fridge can affect their flavor, texture, and freshness

< Don't refrigerate these fruits:

Bananas - They'll turn black.
• Apples - Only if you want to extend their shelf life after they've ripened.
• Citrus fruits - Cold temps can alter the texture and taste.
• Avocados - Let them ripen at room temp, then refrigerate if not consumed right away.
Put these in the fridge for extra freshness:
Grapes - Keep them crisp and fresh!
Berries - Keep them cool to avoid spoiling.
Apricots, peaches, and nectarines - These last a few more days when refrigerated.
• Melons, pineapple, and sliced watermelon - Once cut, refrigerate and monitor the humidity.
• Kiwi - Cold temps slow down ripening.
Tell us in the comments what fruit you've always been storing wrong 6§
