Some months ago, I had the honour of sitting down with Engr. Margaret Oguntala in her office. It wasn’t just a visit; it was an enriching conversation that left me inspired and deeply reflective. In that room, surrounded by the weight of her journey and the calm confidence she carries, I was reminded of what true dedication, vision, and leadership look like.

As the first female president of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, she has done more than break a glass ceiling; she’s building new floors for others to stand on. Widely regarded as the mother of modern engineering in Nigeria, her impact is evident not only in the profession but also in the lives of countless engineers across the country and beyond.

Her story is one of resilience, quiet strength, and a tireless commitment to excellence. And in the short time I’ve been connected to her, the level of exposure and the heights I’ve reached have been nothing short of transformative. Her leadership continues to shape the engineering community, strengthen the nation, and influence the world at large.

Today, as she marks another year, I celebrate not just her birthday, but the legacy she continues to build. One of purpose, courage, and impact.

Attending the 10th Nigerian Agrofood & PlasticPrintPack Trade Show at Landmark Centre, Lagos, was an eye-opening experience The event was packed with game changing ideas and innovations shaping the future of agribusiness in Nigeria.

One major highlight? Cold chain storage and Logistics solutions. These systems though still new in Nigeria are key to keeping food fresh, reducing waste, and improving food security.

Technology also took center stage with agri-tech innovations transforming how farmers grow and manage crops. The power of tech in agriculture is undeniable.

Another insightful moment was a conversation with Alexander Isong, President of OTTACWA, on how to scale and grow agribusiness profitably. The key takeaway? Smart planning and strong collaborations are essential for success.

As my first in-person tech event, it was nothing short of inspiring! From powerful speeches by visionaries like and Will Stevens, to the innovative exhibitions and breakout sessions, the entire event was a masterclass on tech’s role in transforming traditional businesses.

My biggest takeaway? Focus on customer-centricity: from storytelling to customer support and retention—key strategies used by startups like Paystack to grow into industry giants.

To top it off, the Night Festival was the perfect mix of good vibes, meaningful conversations, and music by Anendlessocean.
