Fundamental digital marketing acronyms you should know in 2020
One of the first hurdles to climb when entering the world of digital marketing are its jargons;
Those terms that are peculiar to the field. Most of the times they come as ACRONYMS.
But today I'm going to make your journey a lot easier.
By bringing to you some of the most used acronyms in the world of digital marketing
Let's go
💥AIDA- Awareness Interest Desire and Action. This is a simple sales funnel that turns your traffic to revenue. Let me take it a little further, AIDAA where A stands for Advocacy.
💥ROI - This should be by far the most popular acronym. Return on Investment.
💥B2B- Business to Business. These are business rendering services to other businesses.
💥KPI - Key Performance Indicator. These are the metrics marketers look out for, to judge whether a campaign was successful or not.
💥SMM - Social Media Marketer (that's me😉). These are professionals who drive sales using social media platforms.
💥ROAS- Return on Ad Spent. Similar to ROI but peculiar to Adverts.
💥CTA - Call to Action. Most time after seeing a Facebook Ad you see a 'learn more' or a 'buy now'. Yes, those are CTAs. The desired action you want the reader to take.
💥CTR - Click Through Rate. This is the percentage of mails opened to mails sent.
💥FOMO - Fear of Missing Out. This is mostly used to hasten the buyers actions. For example "this offer only last for 2 days"
💥SEM - Search Engine Marketing. These are adverts that appear on search engines like Google and Bing.
💥SEO - Search Engine Optimization. This affects the visibility of your website, on search engine's unpaid result page.
💥CAPTCHA- Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart. I bet you didn't know this one😉
💥KISS - Keep it Short and Simple. Like I have done with this post☺

It has been proven over time that the best way to advertise your product is to EDUCATE your prospects
Now I don't mean you should tell them the history or who invented it..
No one really cares about that...at least not your prospects.💁💁
Educate them on the BENEFITS of using your product/service, i.e what they stand to gain,
P.S emphasize on this
Educate them on the FEATURES of your products (don't dwell too much on this though)
Educate them on the PROBLEM they face or would face without your product( yes, there are many people who have problems and don't know)
P.S Fear sometimes acts as a better motivation to buy a product than just mere desire.
Give them testimonials on your products
Do everything but DON'T SPAM❌❌❌
The problem is not always the lack of ideas
But most times, it is "how" to carry out that idea that becomes the issue.
A wise man said(I can't remember his name right now🙈)
"Your 'Why' should become so great that the 'How' is no longer an issue"😔
Your "why's" are your motives, your motivations.
Take time out to identity them, change them if needed. And pursue those plans.

Unspoken rule #4: Mini-communities
Let's continue with our hair example
There are people who are already interested in hair related stuff. So you have two options:
1. Go to them
2. Bring them to you
You may want to pick the latter but we can agree that it is more difficult and would take more time and won't be the best option especially if you want quick results
So you "go to them"
And how do you do that?
Facebook groups!
Go to groups related to your niche.
Go there and start applying number #2; give value!
In as much as you are giving value(frequently too), answer people's queries for FREE, be visible. Engage with other people's post.
Those actions may seem little and insignificant but if there's anything I've learnt from being an online marketer is that "people are watching you"
