PRESIDENT TINUBU FELICITATES EFCC CHAIRMAN OLA OLUKOYEDE ON HIS BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY

President Bola Tinubu rejoices with the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Olanipekun Olukoyede, on his birthday anniversary, October 14.

President Tinubu says Mr Olukoyede has demonstrated professionalism and courage in the discharge of his duties, reinforcing the EFCC’s mission to rid the nation of economic and financial crimes.

The President also acknowledges the EFCC Chairman’s commitment to the fight against corruption, transparency in governance, and institutional reforms within Nigeria’s anti-graft framework.

He specifically commends Olukoyede for setting up the special task force on currency offences, which is dedicated to fighting naira abuse and the dollarisation of the economy. He also commends him for the strategic framework introduced in the fight against cybercrimes and sabotage against the nation’s economy.

President Tinubu prays that almighty God will guard and guide the EFCC chairman and bless his determination to free Nigeria from the economic ills that have tied us down for ages.

$4.5bn: Court Admits More Evidence Against Emefiele

Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on October 9,2025, admitted more evidence against a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, in an alleged $4.5bn fraud. Emefiele is standing trial on a 19-count charge bordering on receiving gratification and corrupt demand preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). His co-defendant, Henry Omoile, is facing a three-count charge bordering on unlawful acceptance of gifts by agents. The case was adjourned till December 2 and 3, 2025 for mini trial.

Yobe State Govt. Declares Tuesday 15th July 2025 A Work Free Day to Mourn Former President Muhammadu Buhari

Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni, has approved Tuesday 15th July 2025, a work free day to mourn former President, Muhammadu Buhari who died on Sunday in a London hospital.

Governor Buni urged workers and the people of the state to dedicate the day to pray for the repose of the soul of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

He charged imams to make good use of the day to pray in their respective mosques for the late President and the country.

"He was a leader who has done so much to ensure return of security to Yobe state and the North East in general, he deserve this special honour from the people of the state" Governor Buni said.

Earlier, Gov. Buni, in a condolence message, described late Buhari as a great patriot who spent most of his life working for the unity and progress of Nigeria.

He said Buhari was a disciplinarian, a leader with integrity, and a leader with unlimited passion for the development of the nation.

The Governor prayed to almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him aljannah.

Governor Buni condoled with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the family of the late former president, Katsina state government, Daura Emirate and Nigerians in general over the huge and monumental loss.
