Have you been wondering 🤔what the use of in the head tag in your code is?

Before the invention of UTF-8 , ASCii character encoding was used to tell the browser how to interpret/display the content of a web page.
Unfortunately, ASCii only encodes English characters.
ASCii can translate only English characters. When you use language whose characters does not exist in the English characters, the text wouldn't display properly (language like Chinese , Arabic etc).

In 1992, utf-8 was then invented to do all ASCii couldn't. UTF-8 is capable of translating almost every language and characters(like emojis and the likes) in the world.

Now, to what each character means and does.

⌨️ A HTML tag which makes the browser to identify the content of a web page and how to display it.
From machine language to human readable language.

🖱️Charset : this attribute specifies to the browser, the character encoding to use to display the web content.

🖥️ utf-8: Unicode Transformation Format, 8 means the bit values used for encoding.

So, the tells the browser to use the utf-8 character encoding to translate machine language into human readable language when displaying web contents.

🌻CSS terms and definitions 🌻

Before learning CSS there are terms you need to know to avoid confusion or mispronunciations. Below are the CSS terms and their definitions👇

1) Selectors: this define an element to which a certain styling is to be applied.

Ex1: Midas touch is a Muslimah ( this is a html tag.) To style it in css you will have to select the paragraph tag like this👇

}
In this case P is a selector

Curly brace( {} ): This is a declaration block. This homes the style property and value of a selector. { opening of a curly brace, closing of a curly brace}

Rule set: this includes the selector, the curly brace, property and value in a single CSS.
Ex2: everything below is a rule set.
P{
Color: ;
}

Property: a property is what appears before the colon in any line of css.
Ex3: h1{
Font-size: 14px;
}
The property of h1 here is the “font-size”

Value: this appears immediately after the colon. See ex3, “14px” appears after the colon. “14px” is the value.

Class selector: this target an/many elements by its/their class element.

ID selector: this target one element by its Id.

Full stop (.) this is use to style a class name.

Hash( #) this is used to style an ID.

Asterisk (*) this is used to style all elements at a go. It’s called “Universal selector”

Statement :is any rule/rule set in css.

Make sure you jot down these terms because you can’t escape using them in css.

The new word “Metaverse ” is not actually new in the tech world but became popular after CEO Mark Zuckerberg changed it company’s name to ‘Meta’. ( your WhatsApp, Facebook , displays form Meta)
Mr. Mark Zuckerberg declared that the new brand would bring together all their apps and technologies, thereby bringing the metaverse to life.

Rewind to 1992 Metaverse was first mentioned in Neal Stephenson’s novel “Snow crash”. “He defined it as a computer generated universe and an imaginary place”.

What is Metaverse?

Metaverse is the combination of the two words “Meta”(beyond) and “verse”(universe).

It’s surface meaning ... Beyond universe.

It can be defined as the coming together of the virtual world , augmented reality and the internet .

It is a virtually programmed and developed world where people can do real life activities like work meetings, business, have fun, socialize etc, with one another right on their couch! This will be possible by a representative 3D avatar. Using the VR headset Each user will have their own avatar representing them.

How does Metaverse look or feel?

Like I mentioned, it’s a new development no exact example for it. A good example of it are video games like (ready player one , second Life) or the ones we play in various Game Center using VR headsets. Whereby you will have an avatar representing you to do everything needed in the game like you’re right in there(Feeling of presence).

Metaverse allows people to interact virtually with a feeling of presence.

With metaverse many people will find physical presence as a big deal.
