I'm scared.

Not because I'm finally meeting my new parents after being stuck in this filthy orphanage for 12 years, not because I had a dream last night about this new family being strange and mean to me.

No,I'm scared cause I saw her again.

She's my worst nightmare, she makes me do things… very bad things.

I'm Ava. I turned 17 this year.

I've been stuck at Parks orphanage for 12 years and I finally got adopted. I'm to meet my new family today before they get to take me away next week to my new home.

You might wonder, as most people do,,, why am I at an orphanage at age 17 (children above 15 are not allowed in an orphanage at this side of town).... It's complicated.

You see…. I got to this orphanage when I was 5. I still remember the wicked smiles on the faces of my parents when they dropped me off. I wasn't in an orphanage because my parents died, in fact I'm not supposed to be called an orphan because both my parents are still alive.

They just never wanted me, they saw me as evil and dirty when they themselves were the evil ones.

I'll be lying to myself if I said I didn't care they gave me up, I do care… a lot. But now that's not the point.

When I was 7,I started to see her, she came and went and I never paid attention to her at first, until it started to happen…
