"God of All Flesh"

Jeremiah 32:27 ("Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?")

God of all flesh talks about God’s character as the Creator and Sustainer of all humanity that connects us as one people under His care and authority.

1. The Meaning of "God of All Flesh"
It means God’s sovereignty over all people—regardless of race, nation, or culture. He is the Creator of every human being, and He is the source of life, strength, and hope for all. Acts 17v28

2. God as Creator and Sustainer of All People
God's role as the "God of all flesh" points to His creative power and authority over all life. From Genesis, where God breathes life into humanity, to Psalms that declare His care over every living creature, the Bible reminds us that we are all His handiwork. Ephesians 2v10

3. God’s Authority Over All Humanity
Because God is the "God of all flesh," His authority spans every life. His laws and commandments aren’t just for a select few but are meant for all people. As the Righteous Judge, His standards apply universally.
Romans 3:29 – "Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also."

4. God’s Heart for All People
Though God has authority over all, He is also a loving Father who desires all people to come to Him. As the "God of all flesh," He longs to have a relationship with each one of us, and He made that possible through Christ. In Jesus, the heart of God for all humanity is revealed: He seeks to redeem, not condemn.
1 Timothy 2:4 – "who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

5. God’s Power to Help and Heal
As the "God of all flesh," God has the power to intervene in any situation. He invites us to rely on His strength because there is nothing too hard for Him. In our weakness, His strength becomes evident, showing that He can do what we can’t.
Jeremiah 32:17 – "Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you."

6. Our Response to the "God of All Flesh"
Reflecting on God as the "God of all flesh" should humble and unite us. We are all equally dependent on His mercy and grace. And as we embrace this truth, we’re called to show God’s love, justice, and mercy to others, recognizing that everyone we encounter is precious in His eyes.

We are to love, forgive, and seek peace with others, sharing the good news of Christ who embodies God’s heart for all flesh.

Power Belongs to God

Psalm 62:11 - “God has spoken once; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God.”

We live in a world that values power. People pursue authority, influence, and control over others, often equating it with success or fulfillment. But as believers, we understand that all true power originates from God. When we acknowledge that "power belongs to God," we gain a perspective that empowers us to rely on Him fully, resist the pull of earthly power, and live in a way that glorifies Him.

1. God is the Source of All Power
Psalm 62:11 tells us that all power is held by God. He is the Creator, the Sustainer, the Alpha and Omega—the very beginning and end of all things. Every power and authority that exists is subordinate to His.

Romans 13:1 says, "There is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God." This includes every form of power on earth, whether in governments, nations, or individuals.

When we understand that God is the source, we recognize that any power we experience or witness is a gift entrusted to us for a purpose.

When we understand that God is the source, we recognize that any power we experience or witness is a gift entrusted to us for a purpose.

2. Human Power is Temporary, But God's Power is Eternal
Earthly power fades. History is full of empires, leaders, and rulers who seemed invincible but eventually lost their power. Think of mighty kings like Nebuchadnezzar or Pharaoh; they ruled with an iron fist, but their kingdoms eventually crumbled.

Isaiah 40:23 says, "He brings princes to nothing and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness." The mightiest human powers cannot withstand the plans of God.

God’s power is unchanging, reliable, and permanent. Hebrews 13:8 reminds us, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." His eternal power is something we can depend on through every season.

3. God's Power is Displayed in Our Weakness
God's power shines through our human weaknesses. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” When we feel powerless, it's an invitation for God to show His strength in our lives.

Gideon's story in Judges 7 is a perfect example. God reduced Gideon's army from 32,000 to 300 so that the victory over the Midianites would be a testament to God's power, not man's.

When we surrender our limitations to God, He uses them as a canvas to demonstrate His might. He turns our weakness into strength, our fear into courage, and our doubts into faith.

4. God’s Power Calls Us to Trust and Obey
Knowing that power belongs to God gives us confidence in His plans. When life seems out of control or when people around us misuse their power, we remember that God holds ultimate authority. Nothing can happen without His permission.

We are invited to trust in His power, even when we don’t understand His ways. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.

Obedience to God becomes a natural response when we understand His power. As we see in the life of Daniel, his obedience and faithfulness, even in the face of persecution, were fueled by his trust in God’s authority.

5. God’s Power is Available to Us Through the Holy Spirit
This power isn’t about controlling others or achieving worldly success; it’s about living as Christ did—serving, loving, and bringing glory to God. This spiritual empowerment enables us to overcome sin, live righteously, and fulfill God’s purposes.2Timothy2v11-12

We’re empowered to be His witnesses and to extend His Kingdom on earth. It’s His power in us that fuels us to forgive, love, and live out His will which is ordinarily not possible with human effort.

Timely Help

Psalm 46:1 - "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
Ecclesiastes 3:1 - "For everything, there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven."
Romans 8:28 - "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him."

Timely help talks about having the understanding and trust that God can provide exactly what we need when we need it. There may be times when we wonder why help didn’t arrive sooner or why God delayed. But in His perfect wisdom and love, God’s help comes at the precise moment to bring the most glory to Him and growth to us.

1. God’s Presence in Times of Trouble (Psalm 46:1)
Just as a lifeguard at a pool watching over swimmers. Always ready and prepared to help but act exactly when they are needed not before or after. God is our very present help knowing exactly when and how to act

2. Understanding the Timing of God’s Help (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
There is a season and purpose for every moment, and this includes moments of waiting, struggle, and victory.

Joseph was thrown into the pit and from there to the palace. God’s timing was precise, though Joseph didn’t see it until years later. Our job is not to question the timing but to trust the One who holds the seasons in His hands.

3. Recognizing God’s Help through Others (Galatians 6:2)
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

4. God’s Timely Help and Our Faith in Action (Romans 8:28)
Trusting in God’s timing can stretch our faith, especially when we don’t see the help we expected.

Jesus’ resurrection was the ultimate timely help for humanity, but it came after His suffering. God’s ultimate help is eternal and far beyond our temporary view. We are called to pray, have faith, and expect that God’s help will come, even if it looks different than we imagined.

God often provides timely help through His people. We are called to be that “present help” for others as well. Therefore look for ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus for someone in need. You might be the answer to someone’s prayer for help at the right time.

Just by Grace

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV): "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."

1. The Definition of Grace
Grace Defined: Grace is unmerited favor from God—His goodness, given freely to those who don’t deserve it.

God’s Nature of Grace: God is love (1 John 4:8), and grace flows from this core aspect of His character. His grace means that despite our faults, He reaches out to us in love. Just like a child who makes mistakes but is still loved deeply by their parent. The love and acceptance are not earned but freely given.

2. The Universality of Grace
Romans 3:23-24 - “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

Every human being needs grace because every one of us has fallen short of God’s standard. But no one is beyond the reach of grace.
We therefore need to recognize the need for grace. No matter where we are in life, what we've done, or how "good" we try to be, we are dependent on God’s grace.

3. Grace Versus Works
Titus 3:5 - “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.”

Good deeds and religious practices are meaningful, but they don’t earn us God’s love or forgiveness. Grace is a gift, not a wage.

Just like someone trying to buy an expensive item with pocket change—our efforts to earn God’s love are as insufficient, but grace covers this gap entirely. So, let go of trying to "earn" God’s love or prove ourselves and, instead, live as people who are deeply loved by Him.

4. Receiving Grace Through Faith
Ephesians 2:8 - "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves."

We receive grace by placing our faith in Jesus Christ, accepting that we can’t make ourselves right with God. Faith is the open hand that receives God’s gift of grace.

Just as a thirsty person reaches out to receive water, we open our hearts to receive God’s grace through trusting in Him. Today, if you haven’t yet placed your faith in Christ, know that God’s grace is extended to you. All you need to do is believe and receive.

5. Living in the Reality of Grace
2 Corinthians 12:9 - "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

Grace empowers us daily. We’re still imperfect, but grace gives us strength, covering our weaknesses and failures. Embrace God’s grace not just for salvation but as an empowering presence in your life. Grace frees you from condemnation and gives you peace to grow, learn, and become more like Christ.

"Be ye separate"

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 (KJV) "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? ... Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."

In the passage above, Apostle Paul gives a clear call to Christians to be separate from the influences and values of the world. It’s a command not just for physical separation but a spiritual and moral distinction. Today, we will explore what it means to be separate in a world that constantly calls us to conform, and how this separation aligns us with God's holiness and His purposes for our lives. These includes amongst others

1. The Call to Separation is a Call to Holiness
1 Peter 1:16 – “Be ye holy; for I am holy.” Implies that we are to reflect God's nature which Holiness
Holiness is not just an outward set of behaviors but a heart set apart for God.
The world’s values such as greed, selfishness, immorality—are in direct conflict with God's holiness.

God desires us to be holy in our thoughts, words, and actions. Being separate from the world means setting ourselves apart for God’s purposes.

2. Separation Does Not Mean Isolation
John 17:15-16 – "I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil."

Jesus prayed for His followers to remain in the world but not to be of the world.
Being separate does not mean we avoid all contact with unbelievers, but it means we live with a different set of priorities and values.
Like light in the darkness, we are to shine and influence the world, not to withdraw from it.

We therefore must live among the world but not let the world dictate our identity or actions. Our separateness is not about self-righteousness, but about representing Christ in every sphere of life.

3. Separation from Sin, Not from Sinners
Luke 5:32 – “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Jesus ate with sinners and tax collectors but never compromised His purity.
The church is called to be a sanctuary for the broken, yet remain a place of righteousness.
Our separation is from sin, not from people who need God's grace.

We are called to lovingly engage with people while maintaining our commitment to God's standards. We need discernment to reject sinful behaviors while embracing people with the love of Christ.

4. The Danger of Compromise
Romans 12:2 – “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

Compromise often starts small but leads to a slow erosion of faith and values.
The pressure to conform to the world’s standards is constant, but God's Word calls us to resist and to renew our minds daily.
Compromise with the world weakens our witness and leads to spiritual stagnation.

Let us guard against the subtle ways the world tries to draw us away from God. Stand firm on biblical truth even when it’s unpopular or inconvenient.

5. The Reward of Separation
2 Corinthians 6:17-18 – “…I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

The promise of separation is intimate fellowship with God.
When we choose to set ourselves apart for God, He promises to be our Father, to care for us, and to draw us into closer relationship with Him.
Being separate from the world brings us into the fullness of God’s family and the blessings of being His children.

God’s greatest reward for separation is His presence. When we separate from sin and the world, we experience the joy, peace, and love of being in God's family.

In conclusion, the call to “be ye separate” is a challenge for every believer to live a life that honors God. It’s not about legalism or superiority, but about reflecting the holiness of God in a world that needs the light of Christ. Let us examine our lives today and ask ourselves: Where have we allowed the world to influence us? Where can we more fully separate ourselves for God’s purposes?

"A Very Present Help"

Text: Psalm 46:1-3 (NIV)
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."

Brethren when we reflect on the profound truth found in Psalm 46:1—"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." In our lives, we face many challenges and uncertainties, yet this promise reassures us that we are never alone in the following ways

1. The Nature of God as Our Help
God’s help is not distant or detached. He is described as "ever-present," meaning He is always with us, aware of our struggles and ready to provide support. In moments of fear and anxiety, we can lean into His strength.

2. Facing Life's Storms
In a time of chaos and confusion when faced with situations like earthquakes, roaring waters, and quaking mountains which represent the trials of life we face. Life can feel overwhelming, and our circumstances may shake us to our core.

Just as a child who runs to a parent in times of distress. That instinctual response to seek comfort is a beautiful reminder of our relationship with God. He invites us to approach Him, knowing He is there to embrace and strengthen us.

In all these, our consolation is in the fact that true peace comes from acknowledging our limitations and relying on God. When we surrender our fears to Him, we find strength and stability.

3. God as Our Refuge
In a world filled with turmoil, God is our refuge. A refuge offers safety and shelter. When we turn to Him in times of trouble, we are engulfed in His protection.

Just as i was told about olumo rock that in the olden days when there is war people runs there for safety .Similarly, God invites us to run to Him for protection and comfort.

4. Responding to His Help
Recognizing God as our help requires action on our part. We must choose to seek Him earnestly, whether through prayer, reading His Word, or engaging with our faith community.

Therefore my beloved don’t wait for crises to draw near to God. Build a relationship with Him daily, so when challenges arise, you have a solid foundation to stand on. Just like the one who builds his house on the rock Matthew 7:24-27

5. The Assurance of His Presence
Finally, let us remember that God's presence is not just for our troubles; it is a continual source of joy and strength. In times of celebration and in our everyday lives, He walks with us.

Take a moment to consider how God has been a help in your life. Recall specific instances where you felt His presence, guidance, and comfort.

In conclusion, let us hold on to the promise that God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. No matter what storms we may face, we can rest in the assurance of His unwavering presence.
