Aisha Buhari: “Before He Died, My Husband Asked Nigerians to Forgive His Mistakes”

Aisha Buhari, the widow of Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari, has disclosed that her husband’s final request was for forgiveness from the Nigerian people.

“After leaving office, one thing he repeatedly told me was that if he died before me, I should plead with Nigerians on his behalf — to forgive him for the mistakes he made during his administration.

He acknowledged that as a human being, he was not perfect and may have erred in judgment. So today, I humbly ask every Nigerian to forgive him before he is laid to rest.”
