WE ARE TAKING A BREAK... 😢🥁💛‼️‼️

It’s with mixed feelings we announce that the DOT Drums Community will be taking a short break starting October 30th.

This isn’t goodbye it’s a moment to breathe, refocus, and return with even greater energy, vision, and impact. Every great rhythm needs a pause before the next powerful beat.

Thank you to every mentee, instructor, and supporter who has kept the rhythm alive. The drums may rest for now, but the passion continues to echo.

We’ll be back soon louder, stronger, and unstoppable.

Rudiment of the Week: Flam
A flam = grace note + primary stroke.

Stickings:

Rl (right hand main, left grace)

Lr (left hand main, right grace)

Pro Tip: Keep the grace note low and the main stroke high for a clean sound.
Challenge: Practice slowly, then use flams in fills and grooves.

Yesterday was the Drum Queens event! ❤️✨

As a mentor to female drummers across the globe, I always make it a point to witness my mentees perform live, and I was absolutely blown away by the talent on display! The energy, the skill, and the passion were next-level. Once the videos are released, I’ll be sharing them with you all so you can see just how incredible these women are.

We were beyond excited to have the CEO of DOT Drums Community join us live at the event. DOT Drums was proudly represented by three amazing community members!

From left to right, slide 3: , one of the top drummers at Redeemer University, who was honored as the best graduating student of the 2023/24 DOT Drums Academy. In the middle , my blood, my Gee. While she’s not a drummer, she came to show love for the brand and was completely blown away by the incredible performances of the female drummers. On the far right is Samsticks, who earned the title of Most Outstanding Drummer for the 2025 mentorship program. It was truly inspiring to see amazing female drummers doing Great stuffs , and all the other talented drummers who made the Drum Queens event unforgettable!

I’m so proud of these talented women and the entire DOT Drums community. The future of female drumming is looking brighter than ever, and we can’t wait to continue empowering and training more drummers from all over the world. Let’s keep pushing, growing, and inspiring! The journey has just begun! 🎶🔥

Drummers who take the time to learn music theory gain a serious edge. It’s not just about knowing notes—it’s about understanding structure, timing, harmony, and how your rhythms fit into the bigger picture. You stop being just a timekeeper and start being a true musician who can communicate, lead, and adapt in any musical setting.

With theory, you anticipate changes, follow charts with ease, and even contribute creatively to songwriting. You understand why certain grooves work and how to build transitions that elevate a song. It doesn’t take away from your feel—it enhances it. Because when knowledge meets instinct, your playing becomes unstoppable.

Every time you touch a drum, you’re doing more than making sound—you’re continuing a legacy. Long before sheet music or recording studios, rhythm was a language. Drums were used to communicate, to celebrate, to mourn, to worship. They carried the stories and emotions of entire communities.

When you play, you're not just expressing yourself—you're echoing the spirit of those who came before. Each beat connects you to ancient traditions, cultural rituals, and unspoken truths. You're part of a rhythm that existed long before you and will continue long after. It's more than music—it’s heritage in motion.
