WHATSAPP OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES NEW COMMUNITIES FEATURES

On Thursday 2nd of November 2022, WhatsApp the biggest chatting platform in the world launched new communities’ features. The communities feature came a tool intended to organize multiple group chat into one place it means office, neighborhood or school could be joined together with different chats.
The Communities offer some interesting features to complement the communities on WhatsApp like larger voice call, reactions, file sharing and admin control aside the fact that it can bring different chat group under one umbrella. Community admins can reach members with important updates by sending announcements and community members can stay connected by exploring and chatting in groups that matter to them. Members can receive updates sent to the entire community and easily organize smaller discussion groups on what matters to them. Your personal messages and calls in communities are always end-to-end encrypted. No one else, not even WhatsApp, can read or listen to them. Though the feature is limited to some countries and may not be available in your country or region yet, if the community feature is not available to you yet you have to keep checking back to know when it would be available in your country or area
To Create a community on android, follow below steps:
1. Open WhatsApp > tap More options > New community.
Alternatively, tap New chat > New community.
• You can also navigate to the community tab > New community.
2. Enter the community name, description, and profile photo.
• The community name limit is 24 characters.
• Your description should provide members an idea of what your community is about.
• You can add a community icon by tapping the Camera icon. You can choose Take Photo, Choose Photo, or Search Web to add an image. Once set, the icon will appear next to the community in the Chats tab.
3. Tap the green arrow icon to add existing groups or create a new group.

GOOGLE FINALLY PHASEOUT HANGOUTS

In 2021 Google introduce Google chat, it allows users to chat with each other privately with option to switch to google chat from hangout. Users were prompt to move to Google chat on their own while google chat would replace the hangout. Finally, the google hangout has been phased out by google this fall. It is the end of an era of a powerful application that allow people getting together without actually getting together. We got together virtually but over the time many chatting application with better feature and UI has been developed hangout. Google hangout was one of the Google+ feature before it was separated to be a stand alone application that can be downloaded from application store. It was estimated to have about 5 billion downloads from Google play store.
Now Users have until January 2023 to keep their hangout data all users both desktop and mobile users will be migrated to google chat to complete the total shutdown of the messaging app.
To enable Google chats on Gmail web, go to settings > Chat and Meet > select Google Chat. It is also available for iOS and Android platform. It is an intelligent messaging app for texting, voice chat and video chat.

The financial giant saw its share tumble after forecast cut, Shares in PayPal dropped nearly 5% after the digital payments heavyweight lowered its annual revenue forecast, warning of a bleak quarter as consumers cut back on discretionary spends.

“Given a challenging macro environment, slowing e-commerce trends and an unpredictable holiday shopping season, we are being appropriately prudent in our Q4 revenue guide,” Chief Executive Daniel Schulman said in a call with analysts.

The San Jose, California-based company on Thursday cut its 2022 adjusted revenue growth outlook to 10% from 11% forecast earlier, while also forecasting bleak e-commerce growth in the fourth quarter.

That was in line with commentary from the National Retail Federation (NRF), which earlier this week forecast holiday sales, including e-commerce, to grow at a slower pace this year even as retailers offer steep discounts to attract shoppers and clear out excess inventory.

THE Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima have cited hectic campaign schedules and resolve not to give any Television station preference among others as reasons for their absence at Sunday’s town hall meeting of presidential candidates in Abuja.

The event was organised by Arise Television and the Centre for Democracy and Development, CDD, in partnership with Vanguard Newspapers, Premium Times, Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE, and Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ.

Three presidential candidates, Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, and Chief Kola Abiola of the People’s Redemption Party, PRP attended the meeting.

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP flagbearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is out of the country, was represented by his running mate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

Explaining Tinubu’s absence, the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, in a statement by its Chief Spokesman, Mr.Festus Keyamo, said “Tinubu did not attend the Presidential Debate organised by ARISE TV on Sunday, November 6, 2022, for the following reasons:

“Firstly, many radio and TV networks in Nigeria have indicated interests to host such debates and out of deference to other TV and radio stations, our candidate will not be making selective appearances in some networks, whilst ignoring others. As President of Nigeria, by the Special Grace of God, he intends to treat all persons and businesses fairly and equally.
