In the beginning of the third quarter of 2021, our Agriculture Project Team submitted a proposal for tuber crop planting. We crowdfunded for financial supports. We received some financial donations from private individuals and agriculturally skilled volunteers from our host communities. We empowered 50 paid volunteers, deployed them in laid out portion of farmlands and they made over 20,000 hips in August 2021.
This little significant effort fully launched DFI Agriculture Project which is designed to cover entire underserved local communities in Africa.

In the year 2020 during the the underserved communities in where the poorest among the poor live experience shortage of foods and other basic resources for survival. The poor residents of the communities in question relied hopelessly on the very few palliative packages provided by various levels of government and non-state humanitarian actors. The 'lockdown economic poverty' revealed yet again how socioeconomic inequality has continues to widen the gap between the rich and the poor. Many nonprofits did their best by giving foods to some of the they could contact, but at DI we think this is not enough and absolutely unsustainable. The reason is simple-- teaching the poor and the unemployed how to catch fishes has proven to be more sustainable and significantly boosts economic growth and development. So what do we consider as better and sustainable alternative at DFI?
DFI Leadership through our Research and Development Team led by thought it worthwhile we respond to the situation with a better option. Hence DFI R&D Team conceived and proposed a sustainable and scalable creative, innovative and working idea tagged "DFI Green Projects" which includes agriculture, renewable energy and e-commerce. The project is aimed to cover the entire underserved local communities in Africa. Of course the journey of a thousand must begin with a step.

In the last quarter of year 2020, DFI Leadership selflessly embarked on community engagement involving advocating for collective efforts towards affective change through collectively planned action. DFI partners Tenderfield Farms Limited and Renerth Renewable Energy Ltd. to map out strategies for sustainable alternatives. Hence the Agricultural Project of the "DFI Green Projects" was conceived best to start with. We were able to acquired over 100 acres of farmland lands in southwestern Nigeria. We crowdfunded skills and capital resources which are deployed in cultivating the farmlands commenced planting of crops in the year 2021.
