Oyo Government Demolishes Suspected Kidnappers’ Hideout

Photos from a building used by the kidnappers of the younger sister of Oyo State politician, Adebayo Adelabu, which was demolished by the Oyo State Government on this morning.

The property, located in the Lakoun area along the Ayegun-Olojuoro Road in Ibadan, was identified as a suspected hideout linked to the abduction case.

The Muslim community in Oyo State has condemned the demand by terrorists seeking the introduction of Sharia law in exchange for the release of abducted students and teachers.

Community leaders stressed that the criminals do not represent Islam and reaffirmed their support for peace, justice, and the safe return of all victims.

Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho, has openly questioned Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde over the alleged delay in approving his proposal to assist in rescuing victims abducted in Oriire Local Government Area.

Igboho stated that he is not seeking financial support but merely permission to deploy himself and his security team for the rescue mission. He also referenced his Iru Ekun Security Network, saying he had previously received federal approval for the initiative but was reportedly informed that no security operation could proceed without the governor’s authorization.

The activist maintained that his involvement is driven by concern for the safety of ordinary Nigerians and called for urgent action as insecurity continues to raise concerns across the state.
