WEARABLE COMPUTERS

Google and Epson glasses.

Imagine playing games, watching movies, calling friends, sending messages, navigating the worldwide web and controlling an automobile with a glass!

Rising demand of portable technologies has led some companies to deep research. Google and Epson came up with digital glass. Google glass for Google and moverio for Epson. In terms of affordability, Epson is bit ahead Google while Epson lags behind Google in term of glass functionalities.

EPSON MOVERIO GLASS
In 2012, Epson launched her very first revolutionary transparent display, moverio BT-100, which latter received a lot of comments from the world. It lacks some basic functionalities, no front facing camera and eyes movement sensors. This limited developers from developing apps on the glass.
To solve short comings of BT-100, Epson released the prototype of its next generational moverio BT-200. It is significantly small and 60 percent lighter than BT-100. It is completely transparent, features front facing cameral and with motion sensors with helps developers builds amazing apps.

The moverio has control units that runs updated version of android 4.0 ice cream OS.
MOVERIO BT-200 SPECIFICATIONS

Microsoft to Apple: iWork stinks,
iPads are toys, and you're
playing catch-up
After Apple slammed Microsoft for gouging
customers and designing tablets that
nobody wants, Microsoft has fired back,
saying that you can't get real work done
with iPads or its anemic iWorks
productivity suite, and that iPads are little
more than toys. Who's right in the
increasingly nasty war of words?

Texas Instruments chip helps you stay on the road
The company uses a mixture of ARM cores
and ones developed in-house to assist
drivers
By Mikael Ricknäs

IDG News Service - If you want to avoid
traffic accidents or aren't very good at
parking, the latest SoC (System-on-Chip)
from Texas Instruments offers relief.
On Wednesday, the chip maker announced
the TDA2x, which will be used to power so-
called advanced driver assistance systems
that help improve safety and reduce the
number of collisions on the road.
The TDA2x uses a mixture of ARM cores and
ones developed by TI in-house to
simultaneously run front-camera
applications such as high beam assist, lane
keeping assist, traffic signal recognition,
pedestrian or object detection, and collision
avoidance, according to TI. Additionally, the
SoC enables park assist applications with
surround view and rear collision warning, TI
said.
To help improve performance, the TDA2x
can combine radar and camera sensor data.
Higher levels of integration combined with
better programmability and improved power
efficiency should cut the cost for car
manufacturers and allow them to put driver
assistance features in cheaper cars.
