What Is Love? The Question Nigerians Keep Asking Google β€” And the Honest Answer Nobody Gives - DONVRICHY BLOG 30/06/2026

Let's have a real conversation today πŸ‘‡

Quick question β€” and I need your HONEST answer, not the one that sounds good:

Is love a FEELING or a CHOICE?

Drop your answer in the comments β€” and explain why you believe that. Let's debate it properly. πŸ’™

Because I just published the most honest answer I've ever written about love on Donvrichy Blog β€” and my answer is: it's BOTH. But not equally at every stage.

Love starts as a feeling. You don't choose who you're drawn to. You don't decide to feel that warmth when someone enters the room.

But love that LASTS is a choice. Repeatedly made. Every day.

Because the feeling of love isn't constant β€” stress, tiredness, conflict, and ordinary life all dampen it temporarily. The couples who survive those moments are the ones who CHOSE to keep showing up, even when the feeling was quiet.

I also covered:
πŸ’™ What is true love vs just love?
πŸ’™ How to know the difference between love and infatuation

How to Make Your Data Last Longer in Nigeria in 2026 (MTN CEO's Tips + 10 More Hacks That Actually Work) - DONVRICHY BLOG 21/06/2026

Any small thing your data remain a 500MB
Omo

How many times has your data finished WAY before you expected it to this month?

1? 3? "I've lost count"? πŸ˜…

Drop your answer in the comments β€” I'm genuinely curious how widespread this frustration is.

Even MTN's own CEO, Karl Toriola, admitted "there is nowhere in the world with truly unlimited mobile data." But he also shared real, practical tips on how to make your data last longer β€” and I've added 10 more.

The #1 thing eating your data without you knowing:

WhatsApp. By default, it auto-downloads EVERY photo and video sent to EVERY group you're in. If you're in 10 WhatsApp groups (most Nigerians are), this alone can eat hundreds of MB a week.

THE FIX (takes 2 minutes):
WhatsApp β†’ Settings β†’ Storage and Data β†’ Media auto-download β†’ turn OFF photos, videos, and audio for "When using mobile data"

Other quick wins:
βœ… Turn on Data Saver mode (Android) or Low Data Mode (iPhone)
βœ… Set app updates to Wi-Fi only β€” not mobile data
βœ… Drop YouTube quality to 360p when on data
βœ… Use night data plans (MTN: 11pm–6am, Airtel: 12am–5am) for heavy downloads

I wrote a full step-by-step guide with exact settings for Android and iPhone, the MTN CEO's complete tips, and the cheapest data plans on each Nigerian network.

Nigerian Foods You Cannot Take to the United States (US Customs Will Seize These) - DONVRICHY BLOG 12/06/2026

URGENT for anyone travelling to the US for the World Cup or any trip πŸ›«

Please read and share before you pack. πŸ™

US Customs will seize these Nigerian foods at the airport β€” and if you don't declare them, you could be fined UP TO $1,000:

🚫 Kilishi β€” it's classified as a meat product. Will be confiscated.
🚫 Bushmeat β€” 100% banned. No exceptions.
🚫 Suya β€” even dried and vacuum-sealed, still a meat product.
🚫 Fresh peppers and vegetables β€” caught at agricultural inspection every time.
🚫 Iru and ogiri β€” flagged by the smell and seized.
🚫 Homemade puff puff, akara, chin chin β€” homemade food is not allowed.
🚫 Market-wrapped stockfish β€” loose packaging = very likely seized.

The rule that most Nigerians don't know:

ALWAYS DECLARE food items on your customs form β€” even if you're not sure whether it's allowed.

If you declare it and they decide to take it β€” no fine. You just lose the food.
If you DON'T declare it and they find it β€” fine of up to $1,000.

With the World Cup 2026 now happening in the US, SO many Nigerians are travelling right now. Please forward this to your group chats and save someone from a very expensive airport experience. πŸ’™

Full guide on Donvrichy Blog β€” what's banned, what's allowed, and where to find Nigerian food stores in US cities:

I need every Nigerian to see this before the World Cup kicks off tomorrow πŸ‘‡πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ Here is what Nigeria brought to the 2026 FIFA World Cup β€” the most watched sporting event in human history:
🎀 REMA is performing at the opening ceremony in Los Angeles in front of over 1 BILLION people. He also co-headlines the official anthem "Goals."

🎀 BURNA BOY released "Dai Dai" with Shakira β€” the tournament's central anthem that plays in all 16 host cities across the US, Canada and Mexico. Shakira performs it at the World Cup Final.

🎀 DAVIDO is headlining the official FIFA World Cup Countdown Concert in LA alongside Major Lazer and Akon.

🎀 AYRA STARR is on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album. Four Nigerians. Every major musical moment of the tournament. Simultaneously. This is what 20 years of Afrobeats building looks like. Not a coincidence. Not a quota.
A cultural takeover that was earned, note by note, show by show, stream by stream. Nigeria is the most musically represented single nation on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 soundtrack.

I wrote the full story β€” every artist's role, the generations that built this moment, and what it means beyond music β€” on Donvrichy Blog.

πŸ”₯ Sapa

πŸ’” Breakfast
πŸ™… No Gree for Anybody
πŸ‘€ Oblee
😀 Pressure
πŸ˜‚ Allegedly

Because in 2026, if you don't know what "breakfast" means in a relationship context or why "oblee" is the perfect word for a bad excuse β€” you are falling behind on the Naija language updates. πŸ˜…

And here's the big news β€” Oxford English Dictionary just officially added Nigerian words to the global dictionary in 2026. Abeg, Nyash, Japa, Afrobeats, Ghana Must Go, Moi Moi β€” all now officially recognised in global English.

The world is catching up to what we've been saying for years. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬

I broke down 23 Nigerian slangs of 2025–2026 on Donvrichy Blog β€” with meanings, examples, the cultural story behind each word, and a quick reference table you can screenshot and save.
