Decapolis Community Development Center
We are a group of community-based development centers in impoverished, rural areas in Nigeria. We are on track to train over 2,000 farmers in 2024 alone.
We target the most vulnerable, small-scale farmers and empower them to improve their own communities through hands-on training in regenerative agriculture. Last year we took conventionally produced ginger seeds and planted them using regenerative methods. This year we are using the regenerative seeds from that harvest for planting this year's ginger farm (currently 7 weeks old)๐ซ
Decapolis now has more than 50 smallholder farmers doing the same, as part of our new ginger farmers' cooperative, as we expand our agribusiness efforts by multiplying and selling ginger with no chemical inputs.
For homes, that means healthier food for healthier families. For farms, that means healthier seed with higher yields. For agribusiness, that means healthier product with broader market access and premium pricing. just makes "cents" ๐ฐ

From training to profit!
Our outcomes aren't just theoretical. is making a real difference in the lives of real smallholder farmers in Nigeria. We just received a message from one of the women trained last year letting us know that she has produced over 200kg (>440lbs) of compost, but since she is not able to farm right now, she is now selling the compost to her former office colleagues for N1,200/kg to use on THEIR farms.
๐งIn her own words:
"Wao. This is big time biz! Thanks for teaching us. I will surely do this [building and selling compost] as a serious business for now, until I am able to engage in farming."
Compost building provides smallholder farmers with a powerful tool to maximize profitability. By converting agricultural waste into valuable organic fertilizer, farmers slash expensive inorganic fertilizer costs, reclaim degraded soils, and boost crop yields. This practice also creates a new revenue stream through the commercial sale of excess compost to other growers.

Look at these 4-day-old beauties!
In addition to seed multiplication, sales of regenerative produce and seeds, production and sales of organic biofertilizers, agricultural consultation, and holding smallholder farmer trainings in , Decapolis is involved in agricultural research. We are excited to have been asked by ETG to do a test plot of their maize under regenerative farming methods!
Founded in Kenya in 1967, ETG is a major global agricultural supply chain and processing company that is significantly deepening its involvement in the Nigerian agricultural value chain, focusing on agro-logistics, seed production, and industrial processing. They plan to establish seven Centres of Agro-Excellence to serve as regional hubs for farming inputs and storage, and their expanded agricultural operations are projected to create over 6,000 new direct and indirect jobs in Nigeria.
Decapolis is honored to be a part of investments in Africa by African companies!

MAY 2026 UPDATE
You may remember that last year, we were invited to carry out a special project with an organization called Propcom+ where we trained over 700 women smallholder farmers in northern Nigeria and also trained over 100 of them to be local trainers. The aid organization behind the funding was so impressed with the results that they sent out a Nigerian TV crew to travel with our team to visit the farmers and trainers to produce a documentary. In addition to seeing the compost piles produced by our womenโs cooperatives and farm plots prepped for planting, they also got to watch one of our trainers in Kano lead her very first training of 50 other women! It was such a special moment! And she did a great jobโpractical knowledge being shared from woman to woman in their own language! This is the kind of community intervention that is sustainable for breaking the cycle of poverty, hunger, and dependency. And when this is paired with a concentration on faithful stewardship of Godโs creation and His provisions for us through that creation, thatโs the perfect recipe for truly life-changing hope and joy. Check out the short highlight video clip from Propcom+ of Lydia, our trainer, here: https://bit.ly/Lydiahighlight.
Please continue to pray for the safety of our farmers across Nigeria as the security situation across the country continues to be tenuous.

a bright spark of hope in a barren land! ๐ฅ
Kano farmers receive training in making their own organic fertilizers, reducing farming input costs to almost zero and providing the biodiversity needed to restore their dead soil.

Black gold! Nope, we're not talking oil, we're talking onion seeds. And not just any onion seeds - these are regeneratively produced onion seeds supplied by one of our farmers in Kano, Nigeria.
This same farmer was facing huge debts after a failed 2025 planting season in which onion farmers all across Nigeria incurred financial losses, running into billions of naira, due to substandard seeds, the severe effects of climate change, and issues with pests and diseases.
However, learning about the climate-resilient approach of gave him hope, and he went home and started implementing what he had been taught right away. With almost zero-input cost and creating a healthier soil environment for his plants, his farm became viable again (as evidenced here), enabling him to pay off his debt in a single planting season and providing him with premium seeds that will help to ensure high yields for subsequent plantings.
We love seeing our farmers move from hope to joy through faithful stewardship of God's earth and its resources. ๐๐ฑ๐
