CYDI Calls on the Kano State Attorney General to Halt the Creation of a Politically-Motivated Private Hisbah Structure
The Community Youth for Development Initiative (CYDI) expresses deep concern over the recent move by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to establish a private Hisbah structure operating outside the legal and administrative framework of Kano State.
CYDI strongly condemns this development and calls on the Attorney General of Kano State to take immediate legal action to stop the establishment of this parallel security outfit.
The attempt to create a private Hisbah is politically motivated, lacks constitutional backing, and poses a direct threat to the peace, stability, and security of Kano State. Such an unauthorized structure has the potential to fuel insecurity, heighten political tension, and undermine the authority of the democratically elected state government.
Kano State already has a legally recognized Hisbah Board established through due process. Any parallel or privately controlled version is not only illegal but also capable of creating confusion, conflict of authority, and misuse of security-related powers for political purposes.
CYDI urges the Attorney General to urgently intervene by invoking all necessary legal provisions to safeguard the integrity of the state’s security institutions and prevent any act capable of destabilizing the state.
We call on the good people of Kano State, civil society groups, and all stakeholders to stand firmly in defense of legality, peace, and democratic governance.

Community Youth for Development Initiative Call for Immediate Removal of Commissioner of Transport, Ali Namadi
Dear Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf
We, as Concern Citizens are writing to express our outrage and deep concern over the alleged involvement of the Commissioner of Transport, Ali Namadi, in a scandalous case of corruption and complicity in drug trafficking.
According to credible sources, Commissioner Ali Namadi allegedly collected the sum of $30,000 from a notorious drug baron and subsequently stood as a surety for the same individual. This is unacceptable and a clear betrayal of the public trust.
As you are aware, the fight against corruption and drug trafficking requires unwavering commitment and unshakeable integrity from public officials. Commissioner Ali Namadi's actions, if true, are a clear contravention of these principles and undermine the efforts of your administration to combat these scourges.
In light of these allegations, we respectfully demand that you take immediate action to:
1. Sack Commissioner Ali Namadi from his position as Commissioner of Transport.
2. Order a thorough investigation into these allegations to ensure that justice is p0m0served.
We believe that this action is necessary to maintain the integrity of your administration and to uphold the trust of the people of Kano State.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
