Some of the smallest lives require the most intentional care.

Through the EHA Group, via the EHA Clinics REACH Program, frontline health workers in Kano were trained to better support vulnerable newborns through Kangaroo Mother Care. What this means in practice is simple but powerful; helping mothers keep their babies close, recognize danger signs early, and continue care beyond the facility.

Over two days, 11 frontline workers strengthened both their clinical skills and their ability to track and follow up on care using digital tools. By the end of the training, knowledge levels improved significantly, moving from a 57% baseline to 80%, a clear step toward safer, more confident care delivery.

This is how impact grows. Not just through programs, but by equipping the people who show up for mothers and newborns every day.

At EHA Clinics REACH Program, we're proud to lead the charge in elevating our Community Health Workers to professional status.

To enhance healthcare access and quality, we partnered with eHealth Africa to train our Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) on the Nigeria Package of Essential Non-Communicable (N-PEN) Diseases.

The training facilitated by the National Trainers on N-PEN, in compliance with the national policy and the National Multi-sectoral Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases 2019-2025, was aimed at enhancing our CHEWs' knowledge of providing quality services in the assessment, screening, treatment, monitoring, and management of identified cases of Hypertension and Diabetes.

By providing comprehensive training and support, we're equipping our team with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional care to the communities we serve.

Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women from all walks of life.

Earlier in the week, our team trained 50 pharmacy owners in Kano State. This activity was conducted as a part of our Latter Day Saints Partnership project in collaboration with Vision Spring, which aims to provide eye screening services and discounted reading glasses to people in underserved communities.

The participants were members of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (Kano chapter), and the training was focused on educating them on the role of community pharmacists in detecting and correcting presbyopia.

Participants were trained on means of identifying refractive errors and detailed visual care, and instructors carried out hands-on and written evaluations at the end of this exercise.
