Well and Open Water Incidences.

KANO STATE FIRE SERVICE

On Wednesday, 21st May, 2025, State Fire Service under the leadership of the Director Alh. Sani Anas, the control room of the agency received a call for emergency assistance at about 09:36 am from Garba Sani reporting the incident of a collision between three persons in a ditch along the ring road opposite Dorayi Babba.

Our rescue team from the service headquarters rushed to the scene of the incident. On arrival, they found two men, Saifullahi Muhd, aged about 27, and Halifa Abdullahi, aged about 29, both residents of Gwammaja Quartets, while they are following a man, aged about 30, from Kofar Ruwa market to the place where the incidence happened with the intention of collecting their dues from him.

After he confirming that they could arrest him, he fell into a puddle, which caused them to follow him inside the puddle and both of them were unable to come out. Our men on duty pulled them out unconscious and they were then rushed to Murtala Muhd ​​Specialist Hospital for medical attention, and later doctors confirmed their death.

All victims handed over to Inspector Halifa Muhd ​​of Kuntau police division.

Another emergency call was received at about 06:01 am from one of our staff, SFS Usman Aminu, reporting that, two well-drainers were trapped in a well at Danmaliki Village by Chalawa Filling Station. Our rescue team from the headquarter went to the area and found two well-drainers who had entered a well and trapping due to the lack of oxygen and Heat which caused them could not come out. In this regard by God intervention and our men, we successfully brought them out conscious and later were confirmed to be in good health.

Today being Thursday 27 April 2023, our station at Danbatta Local Government Area,
received an emergency call at about 09:37 am from Sani Salisu who reported an incident at Tukwi Village Danbatta Local Government Area, when our men of Danbatta reached the area at about 09:53 am found that, a man of about 23 years old, by name Anas Ya'u felled inside a well when fetching water from the well to help his friend to build his house, victim rescued unconscious and later confirm dead.

Today being Wednesday 01st March 2023, Our control room received an emergency call at about 05:23 am from one *Aliyu A. Alkasim* he reported an out break of fire at Kurmi Market Kano Municipal Area.

We turned out our men from various fire stations within metropolitan.

On their arrival at the scene of incident, at about 05:27 am.

They found that, abaut six (6) parmanent shops and Seventy Four (74) improvised or temporary Shops engulfed by fire.

The area of blaze is about 160 X 100 ft use as Kurmi Market shops.

All permanent and temporary shops well alight.

With good effort of our men we successfully saved several shops within the market area.

No injury no live loss.

Cause of the incident is under investigation.

I will used this media to draw the attention of the general public to switch off all electrical appliances and disconnected from the source when not in use and careless use of naked fire thought out the market premises.

*FIRE* 🔥 *INCIDENT*

On Tuesday 13th December 2022, our control room received a muntiple called of fire outbreaks from 16:36 hrs to 05:17 am from metropolitan to local government area.
*The fire* 🔥 *occurred*

at *Nguru Road No-man's-land sabon gari* , a building of two floor of about 150 X 150 ft use as a dwelling house,

which is containing seven (7) apartment, 14 rooms, 6 parlour, 10 toilet, 7 kitchen and 6 corridor all from the upper floor well alight,

With effort of our men we successfully saved the ground floor and first floor.

The second fire incident at *Garun Malan local government area* , a building of ground floor of about 200 X 80 ft use as a ISHYA'UDEEN ISLAMIYYA PRIMARY SCHOOL, 2 class room and headmaster office well alight and we successfully saved 7 classes and one male and female teachers office respectively.

And the last fire is at *Rijiyar Zaki Layin Mahalli* a building of one floor of about 75 X 30 ft use as a dwelling house, 6 rooms, 4 parlour, 4 toilet and 3 corridor well alight.

While we successfully stopped the spreading of the fire to their neighbors.

And no report of injury or live lost was found.

Today being Tuesday 06th December 2022, our control room received an emergency call from one of our staff CFS Muhammad Musa Giginyu at about 00:25 hrs.

He reported an out break of fire at Kangon Saminu Farawa by Kwanar Yashi Maiduguri Road and arrived at about 00:29 hrs

On their arrival they found that, an uncompleted building of about 200 x 200 ft used as a Diesel storage area, about Five diesel tankers contain of about 20,400 liters of diesel, one Machine Lifan and three portable generator is on blaze.

With good efforts of our men we successfully control the situation and saved three diesel tankers, nine surface tanks and stop the spreading of the fire to other premises.

Cause of the incident was spark from the portable generator in used to upload the diesel from diesel tanker to other surface tanks.

While three victims trapped by name Mai Daura Sadi of about 24years old, Hassan Sadi and Iliyasu Sadi of about 25 years each respectively and victims rescued alive.

Today being Monday 28th November 2022, Takai fire station received an emergency call at about 13:13 hrs, from local government *Security Service Unit (SSU)*

He reported an out break of fire at Kachako Central Market Takai LGA and arrived at 13:21 hrs.

On their arrival they found that, some part of the market is on Belize.

The dimension of the market premises is about 2000 x 1500 ft used as a Central Market.

About 150 improvised temporary shelters well alight.
And we successfully saved about 800 shelters from the fire🔥 incident.

*Cause of the incident,* Suspected cause by the smokers, due to the upmarket today.

Today being Sunday 27th November 2022, Bichi fire station received an emergency call at about 13:05 hrs, from Hon. Ghaddafi Sani Bagwai,

reported an out break of fire at Kiyawa Village Bagwai LGA and arrived at 13:30 hrs.

On their arrival the found that, a building ground floor of about 400 x 400 ft used as a tsangaya model boarding primary school is on blaze.

14 classes, 12 offices from the admin block and 21 toilet well alight.

Cause of the incident fire started from the Solar system at admin block main parlour.
