The Basileia Vulnerable Persons Rights Initiative (BVPRI) is pleased to participate in the EU Support to End Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (ESGBV) Programme, organized by International IDEA and funded by the European Union.
This training provides a valuable platform to strengthen knowledge, share best practices, and enhance collaborative efforts toward preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence in Nigeria.
At BVPRI, we remain committed to advancing the rights, dignity, protection, and empowerment of vulnerable persons through advocacy, capacity building, and strategic partnerships.

Advocacy group demands more political inclusion for women The Basileia Vulnerable Persons Rights Initiative has called for greater political inclusion of women, insisting that women's participation in governance is a fundamental right and not a privilege.

📚🌱 Young people are at the heart of climate action.
As part of the Green Horizons Initiative, we launched the School Climate Club to inspire students to become environmental champions within their schools and communities.
Through interactive learning and practical discussions, students explored climate change, environmental stewardship, responsible waste management, tree planting, and the role young people play in creating sustainable communities.
The School Climate Club provides a platform for students to learn, lead, and take meaningful climate action beyond the classroom.

Today at the listening tour on Advancing women's political inclusion held in Saminaka,Lere Local Government of Kaduna State, there was a growing consensus among religious/ traditional leaders,women leaders, persons with disabilities with key stakeholders that inclusion of Women in politics is a bedrock of any democracy. Participants urged everyone to play a role in facilitating meaningful participation of women in politics and not just on posters or for the cameras . 💖👑💕🎁👫💯

From Dialogue to Action

The Women Political Inclusion Project (WPIP) is more than a conversation—it's a commitment to evidence-based advocacy and lasting change.

Following the successful inception meeting, BVPRI has commenced project implementation through stakeholder engagement, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) to better understand the lived experiences of women, women with disabilities, political actors, and community leaders.

We had a beautiful session with women with disabilities last week and we had some new learnings
The insights gathered will inform advocacy efforts and policy recommendations aimed at expanding women's participation and leadership in politics.

Together, we are working towards a future where women are not only participants in democracy but leaders shaping its future.
